  1. I put 2cm thick rubber matting on all flat surfaces, I made them for the rear tub, front footwells and on 110's the 2nd row seat footwells.

Made loads of difference, and sold a few on Ebay, but waiting for more supplies to come in from manufacturer (1-2 weeks), Ill put some references up when get more in..

emmm can you keep me updated as to when you get some more in, and also how did you secure it down  sorry about all the questions
  2. camping foam matting seems popular for that job, you can fit err3276 to the rocker cover, it's the original NVH cover as fitted to RRC 200Tdi engines.
would the camping foam not hold mud and water  ?? and thanks for the info to that part i will look into that, any other ideas guys :D
  3. Hi guy's im using my 90 200tdi for a daily driver, which is a 50mile round trip  so what im wanting to do is give a little extra sound proofing with out breaking the bank, or having to rob the local post office  so any ideas or what have you done too yours

  4. Bear in mind, that if they give you more than 2", you may need to change a few other things.

Extend brake lines, correct castor, correct prop shaft angles.

no probs :D i figured that, i was trying not too go down this route like my past trucks, but the dark side has pulled me back in
  5. Think so, from what SimonB says......

Still, if the MoD don't take it, you'll see it down at your local Jewsons picking up sheets of 8x4... that Transit engine will pull anything!

i belive the mod are thinking of getting rid of the wolfs because of the bowmen problem(carp radio system) as once its fitted there is not enough room boil in the bag let alone the the passengers  but i hope the MOD see sense and buy some of these wee beasty, and lets hope that land rover produce some other spec landys for the MOD  but if its anything like the trucks we are getting they will be all german
  6. Hi guys im going to attempt to build a tubular bumper for my 90, not sure if i want a winch tray on it or not  so what im asking is can anyone supply measurements or even a diagram of one they built?? and some pictures of peoples work please.

    Many thanks :D

  7. im in the armed forces and run a jetboil and in all honestey i dont like it, so have turned back to my trusty coleman mutifuel stove which i run either on avatur or napther never tried diesel  i have a spare coleman peak stove that i might part with for beer tokens :D

  8. What lift height were you thinking of?

If you lift by 2", then fitting +2" shocks will give you same articulation as you have now. There's a backgrounder post that I put together that you can access here... Defender lift/suspension upgrades that you may find useful.

Extended brake lines are a good move. Depending on tyre size, lift height and type of springs - extended bumpo stops may not be required.

If you go for more articulation than the height of your springs then you will want some form of relocation device, be it cones, X-Flex springs etc.

    Cheers

    Steve

Hi steve, i dont want to lift it, as i have done this with most of my trucks and the problems that come with them is in my opion a waste of money to me anyway, as always, im always on a budget  the tyres im running at the moment are 235/85/16 insa turbos, so my thoughts so far are this:

    4x +2 shocks

    Set of rear relocation cones.

    Set of longer brake hoses.

Set of H?Duty rear spring retainers

Then at a later date by the rear cranked trailing arms and lowered mounts and bump stops :unsure: what you think. I appreciate all the advice so far many thanks guy's

  9. No idea really, but only because I don't even know what they start from and I don't have a Land Rover magazine to hand to have a qucik flick thru.

Can you get them for a few hundred quid? Or is that being too optomistic??

Seriously I have no idea about winches.

Why don't you buy a cheaper bumper as i looked at getting a cheviot 4x4 bumper and i could not justify that amount of money!!!!! so i went for a firstfour tubular shadow bumper as fitted to my old disco.

this bumper was well made and gave me a great approach angle too  and it cost £245 with delivery from mail order 4x4 this way will free some more cash up for a decent winch i.e superwinch or warn etc etc :D

  10. Hi guy's hope all is well :D ok well spoke with the new boss (aka wife from saturday) and she has said i can do me suspesion. What i do not want to do is change the ride height from normal  so would this work for better articulation.

    procomp +2 allround

    extended bump stops

    extended brake lines

    and dislocation cones

Any help and tips greatfully recieved ;):D
