  1. i'm just thinking along the lines of your problem seemed to start when you were off roading

and with your motor getting tossed around , good starting point for a poor connection to kick in

    only an idea mate

good luck anyway i'll be watching for results :i-m_so_happy: roy

Cheers Roy, i will keep you informed im going to check all connections tomorrow fingers crossed its a simple connection as im getting bored of flying along then nearly having a nose bleed from nearly hitting the steering wheel
  2. Hi Guys, well a week ago while offroading i had a fuel problem where the truck would nearly stall or kangaroo about, so i backed flushed the system to make sure it was not carp in the lines or something similar, changed the filters and cleaned the sediment bowl out, also took the lift pump of to make sure that was doing its job properly which it seems to be.

But today i put my foot down to go up a hill to where i live and it suddenly lost all power then it kicked back in and drove normally  so i decided to go on for a bit and put my foot down again and it happend again

so any ideas as what it could be???

    thanks in advance

  3. looking good russ B) i think that might have to be the way just inside my rear door, as for pick up route that may be sooner than i think as the truck is slowly getting a good ollection of dents on the rear panels    emmmm bobtail pick up :o

  4. you must have already thought about the roofrack idea?

what about some sort of back plate behide the spare wheel with some studs/bars off it that you could hook the boards onto then fix on with big square washers and wing nuts??? just a thought that came to me not seen it done before! or would they be taller than the top of bumper to roof height? not seen many mounted on standard disco's to be honest have you? <_<

Hi no i don't do roof racks  mine is a discovery commercial and is far from standard B) the idea is im just starting to get into novice winch challenge and i am trying to put my waffle boards somewhere easy to get at, i have seen someone with them mounted to the spare wheel but to me its waiting for a tree to rip them stright off  i have thought about mounting one eitherside of the truck on the panels :o :o :o not sure if this is wise either.
  5. I'll keep an eye out - the disco in your profile yes? Mine's a blue V8, with pistonheads logo on the wheel cover. Hope the rain eases off a little.
The plains are not that water logged at the moment so you should be fine, just take the wd40 with you :P:lol:  im usaully out and about with the dog just look out for a disco commercial with a union jack on the bonnet ;)
  6. i took a group out last saturday in the night, now that was good with all the mist specialy when i had fuel problems and gave the map to the rest of the group to go on ahead and i would catch them up    kept my cb on just to listen to them getting lost

  7. cheers David i think the best route is to get some decent washers and stick them in there and then trail it for a bit :o as im not that keen on those spacers either  apart from that very impressed with the rough country shocks :D

  8. Hi guy's was out and about on the plains today and noticed a knocking from the front so i presumed it to be a bush on the track rod etc etc but upon further investigation :o i have found that both sides on the suspensin mounts lower where the shock is held that they can move freely and it looks as though both bush's are worn  so i replaced them with some poly jobbies i had lying around and foun that this has made no diffrence.

So is there a spacer or something missing  the set up on there are rough country +5 and i think +2 spacers as these where fitted before i took the vehicle on, here is a picture of the problem if anyone can shed some light it would muchos appreciated :D by the way its the gap thats in the circle thats the problem i think, also i have tried to tighten them all up but they are as tight as they can go!!!!

  9. Lots of the modern hatchbacks have a net on the boot floor

Have a look in a scrapie - or eBay

Cheers Broonie for the email you have one back B) and the modern hatch back route i have tried, as when my disco got hit by a nice truck driver  i was loaned a KIA Sorento thingy which had a nice luggage net, needless to say i lost it when handing back the hire car :o :o The problem being with them they are too slim.

but thanks anyhow i think broonie has the answer :D

  10. That's a bit posh, I thought the best you got issued was pro-boots.

Altberg offer a resole service for various makes including Danner.

I'm liking these so much I'd contemplate getting a new pair if I really get on with them, but maye a slightly shorter boot like the Recon or Arcadia, at 10" the Fort Lewis are a bit high for general use but ideal for wading in mud/water when off roading.

I was lucky enough to be issued a pair of altberg's 6months ago and they are an awesome pair of boots B) would recoomend them to anyone ;) i think the ones i have are called peace keepers or something like that
