Now you've done it, the wife saw one of the pink photos earlier and has found my RAL chart. 4010 is the colour she wants me to paint Daisy!
-
My kids (7, 5, 4) all enjoyed it and had some interesting ideas when it came to where we could take Daisy... My eldest has been drawing red Jeeps all day. No!

So I walked the mile and a half to the nearest place with clutch fluid.
Filled up the reservoir, after pulling of the cap (with great difficulty).
The clutch works a treat now. I would look for fluid on the mat, but there is always fluid on the mat (thanks to the rain).
I'm going to have to get the garage to swap the cylinders. I just don't have time. Doh.
The fork was changed less than 2k miles ago when she had the chassis swap (belts, clutch, filters, etc.)
I guess one of the cylinders has a slow leak, probably didn't help with the new bits in the system...
Cheers for all your help.
It's good to get some "perspective" on an issue.

My clutch pedal is on the floor, if it's the master cylinder will topping up the fluid temporarily allow the clutch to work?
Cheers,

Cant get on with mud rails take me to high
Watching this with interest, seat rails are pants...
I'm tempted to try to make some brackets for the existing seat back a couple of inches back.

Ha, okay. An update.
I bought a new sensor cap... Turns out the min level on the bottle is nonsense.
Stupid blooming level thingy... Cost me a fiver for a new sensor.
Why was the level down? Simple, the seal round the cap was knackered so the fluid was escaping.

Glad to hear I'm not the only one.
I have my own accident book at work, which lead my Director to conclude I might be the only one doing any work...
If only he knew.

in danger of receiving wrath of the forum - but for that usage i wouldn't buy a defender in any shape or form.
toyota hilux invincible
nicer interior, more comfy front and back, better drive on the road, perfectly acceptable for greenlanes and muddy tracks etc, MUCH better build quality, better dealer support, more powerful engine, lower emissions and therefore lower road tax, better mpg and its cheaper!!!
sorry.
If buying Defenders had anything to do with nicer interior, more comfy front and back, better drive on the road, perfectly acceptable for greenlanes and muddy tracks etc, MUCH better build quality, better dealer support, more powerful engine, lower emissions and therefore lower road tax, better mpg and its cheaper!!! we'd all be driving the blooming things. It's about passion, bolting things on, hitting things with hammers.

With that kind of reception, I think if I were in his position I'd have flashed the cash on my way out, just to let the salesman know what he'd just missed out on... before I went to the next nearest dealership.
Sometimes appearances can cloud your judgement....reminds me of the time I saw a McMerc SLR in the Warwick services ages back... the chap who got out was the scruffiest chap ever, more so that me
Actually he did have the last laugh... He happened to live just down the street, and every day drove newly acquired, top spec. Range Rover right past their front door.
Still it didn't last, he spilt paint on it... when he should have been driving the Bedford van! Doh!

Thanks for that Simonb, just picked up reply so will check tomorrow I do know the earth straps are covered in under seal on the chassis, do you think its worth given it a good clean and refit?
Big Mike the earth strap comes from right side near to the front of the battery box dives down and is bolted to side of chassis then a second length carries on towards the front then bolts to side of gearbox.
Oh good lord, more shinning around underneath Daisy

As far as the extended test drives are concerned, the dealer does not mind, as long as I pay... Also called renting...
They don't generally do an extended test drive on very popular motors...
A friend of a friend, went into the Norwich dealer looking at a new Range Rover, his intention was to buy it with cash... He turned up in a beaten up bedford van (it was a while ago) and his builders clothes.
The salesman ignored him and laughed when he asked for a test drive.
You might want to wear a suit and flash some cash

Aw, your taking away all the land-rover-ness

Here is the actual website.

Check your body to chassis/to gearbox/to engine earths for a start.....
I might be daft (nope I am daft) where are these on a Defender?
-
The only half decent drawing I've ever seen is for a series 2... It would be fantastic to get one for a Defender (I'd even be willing to model it in SolidWorks if someone actually had one...)
-
An in-car fish fryer? That's quite niche!
I think this deserves more note... It was quite funny (Damning with faint praise).
-
Oh, we also have a HP (Stratasys) rapid prototyping FDM machine. Which is huge amounts of fun!
-
Yes,a Haas MM would be ideal for that project. We have one and use OneCNC XR4 for the programming, takes the hassle out of G codes.....
Yep, we use SolidWorks for design, OneCNC for machine paths and the Haas and a tiny little Roland for the actual machining...
It's a sweet little setup, I just need to have "that" conversation about home work
-
Where are they as this will have a marginal affect on price...
-
Ooops....sorry...turning..not milling...
It's milling too (although I know how to mill)...
I wouldn't want to manual mill hinges, I'd need 8 with my CSW! I might be able to use the work Haas MiniMill to do it though (Just need to ask the boss!)
-
just back from MOT, with a Pass, so all the work was worth the effort.
Fantastic! Nice to hear that...
-
Shouldn't you go and see a doctor about that?
It's okay, the cream cleaned it up...
-
Try mega van mats (just google it) a mate was doing his VW and sourced from these guys... The pin hole black vinyl us really nice. I'd go for rubber flooring though!
-
I did the gutters on the 88's roof with sikaflex before repainting, it cured all her leaks.
I have virtually covered every join on the roof in this stuff; and it worked! Dry as a bone!
I just need to get the windows open to let the head lining dry out... Hopefully a sunny day tomorrow.
Master and Slave clutch - Which is it?
in Requests for Part Numbers
Posted
I'm trying to work out which Master and Slave clutch cylinders I need. I intend on changing them both at the same time (Two stoned birds or something)
Also where would you get them from & which brand (other than originals).
I have a 1996 (R reg) 300tdi Defender 110 CSW.
Ta,
Mike
