it worked perfect for a while (2 years) then would drop out of gear , then take a while to go into gear, but guessed that might be due to oil, checked and topped up, but no real difference. Quite often the telltale light would not show on startup, have to wait and see if I've fixed it.

Ok I had the common problem of the overdrive not working due to the electrics, seemed like a bad connection from the pins to the plugs on the control unit, I've spread the pins a bit, and all seems ok but I've had it all unplugged and looked at before and did nothing else, and all was fine so only time will tell. I remember reading about using one or two relays to mimic the control unit, to stop it working while reversing( not sure if it does any damage), and whether the speed sensor could be incorporated. Anybody with knowledge on how to do this.

Just wondering if anyone has put together a Memory map overlay for the wetroads that can be downloaded, I know the list is there online and it can be downloaded, for each county, but it would be really handy to have a map with all the waypoints on to load into Memory Map, even if its just county by county. If not already done , do some members fancy knocking one/some up, county by county, it would be well worth the effort, and useful for when travelling the country for any reason for a bit of light entertainment. Look forward to your input. Please no rants for whatever reason.

Fixed my injector pipe leak, adjusted cold start , changed the oil again, after 500miles, she was running half normal/half semi synthetic, just cos it had been lying around and gave her an engine flush and now she is running like a dream(hope she doesn't wake up
) ,still need to change stop solenoid, big thank you to all repiled

That engine chart was what I was after, thought there was one on Rave, but if there was I couldn't find it, could be injectors, I've got a leak on 1no at fuel pipe and 3no at engine and timing,
but I want to do the timing belt as well, looks like I'm paying money out either way.

Its a 300tdi Defender and from last week on a 400 mile trip the engine has started smoking , billowing out at low revs, as you put your foot down to accellerate, and shes started to run on after switching off the ignition for about 6secs ,then cuts out. she also runs badly under 800rpms. Whats the verdict, be gentle.

is it usual , or accepted mod to make a double cardon prop using an extra two prop flanges, welded together, anyone done this, had bad vibes, or other problems. and at what height would a prop start causing problems in a 110 , would a 2" lift require any mods.

Hi, I have a 110 stationwagan, with brownchurch style roofrack, Howling Moon rooftent, front winch +winchbumper and then carrying approx 30 stone (kids and gear+ tools) on daily basis, and needless to say she sits a bit low , I was wondering what spring to go for heavy duty all round, or +2" all round, or spacers under the springs . Whats your opinions?

I have memory map for navigation, would like a turn by turn satnav with a nice ladies voice to keep me company, but I want it on the laptop(already got a small satnav) so I can have a big screen. Has anyone got any recomendations, or can you use an emulator for the mainstream satnav software , if you know what I mean.

I would be up for a trip, I'd be camping so would hope for good weather, if that is heard of in N.Wales for that time of year. Nice to meet face to face.

As the title says, what's your tubo boost gauge reading? (300tdi engine only) and is it for racing or general motoring/ motorway miles/ towing . I want to see what is the average or what the engine can reliaibly run at, without any mods to the cylinder head, without people saying don't do that!
, just for the hell of it.
If you have a EGT gauge, what is the max temp you have gained , and is the turbo boost related, have you turned the boost back down. Please only from experience.

In reply to your radiator, mine was recored while I waited and was "too big", wouldn't fit back into channels top and bottom, same rad, but must of expaned slightly, sharp fixed with 17stone "press" standing on top. forgive me if this wasn't your problem. just thought I'd share.

I've been reading how to tune the injection pump, (300tdi), but not sure how or if its necessary to boost the turbo
, read something but thought it might be for the 200tdi, can anyone point me in the right direction,
