  1. Hello everyone, My catering man has done a disappearing act again and I have yet to make contact with him dispite many attempts, so if anyone knows of a catering facilities around the Ringwood area please could you give me a call. It is apparently going to be 30 degrees on Sunday so please make sure you bring lots of fluids and if I have time I will go to the cash and carry and get some drinks but I am not promising anything. 2. Hello, After a discussion with Neil we have decided that charging for camping will have a detrimental effect on the social side of the sport which is what we try to promote, so the AWDC will cover the camping costs that Somerley are charging. So therefore there will be no charge for camping for spectators of competitors everyone is welcome!!! Look forward to seeing you there. Lucy xx
  3. Hello everyone, sorry I have been a bit carp in replying but what with being abandoned by my husband I have been a bit busy!!! If you still havent sent your forms then please contact me and I am sure I will be able to squeeze you in. I am afraid there will be no food provided on Saturday night but if you would like to bring some for me that would be great!!!! I am afraid that there is a charge of £10 per tent/caravan/van or whatever else you care to sleep in, not per person. I am sorry about this the money is not going to me or the AWDC it is what Somerley charge. I suggest you all sleep together to economise!!! Entry list as of today, if your name does no appear and you think it should please call me. Team 1 Nick Anderson and Nev Hudd Team 2 Sam Coulton and Ben Standen Team 3 Barry Benjamin and Steve Law Team 4 Adrian Catchpole and Mark Catchpole Team 6 Steve Beck and Adey Baley Team 7 Michael Gill and Simon Case Team 9 Peter Roberts and Ben Burge Team 10 Ben Champion and Martin Champion Team 11 Philon Parpottas and Alex Parpottas Team 12 Chris Kelly and Jason White Team 14 Andrew Beck and Dominic Flitney Team 15 Daniel Thompson and James Taylor Team 16 Ian Cocks and Stephen Day Team 17 Kevin Moss and Tom Fall Team 19 Andy Nash and Dan Elias Team 20 Mark Sinclair and Roy Higgs Team 21 Ben Turner and Mic Turner Team 24 Paul Edney and Trevor Thomas Team 28 Clive Billing and Luke Billing Team 29 Andrew Wolfe and Rob Edwards Team 30 Giles Tinkler and co-driver Hope this is all ok. 4. Hello, Just to let you know that Satellite Navigation is not reliable around the Estate and so it is best if they follow the directions below. You will risk ending up at locked gates that you can not get through if they try to use Satellite Navigation. Directions: · From the A31 take the B3081 towards Verwood and Alderholt. · Go past the two semi-detached cottages on your right hand side · Just as you start to go back in to the trees, turn right on to a gravel track just in front of Ashley Lodge which is a white detached cottage with a thatched roof. This is the track leading to the 4x4 course. http://www.somerley.com/images/estatelrg.jpg The above link is to a map which also shows Ashley Lodge clearly as well as the 4x4 course and the A31 and B3081 if this is also helpful. Hope this helps. Lucy x
  5. Challenger 4x4 would like to announce its 2010 Tuff Trophy Challenge. The event will be in the form of punch challenge event and will be open to all, but membership of "Challenger 4x4 The Club" is mandatory for insurance purposes. Each team will consist of a driver , co-driver and vehicle. Great prizes will be up for grabs and of course a goody bag for each competitor. The weekends event will cost £175 per team. We will provide breakfast on Saturday and Sunday morning and a hot meal Saturday night before you go out on the night stage. Tea, Coffee and water stations will be around the event arena during the day to help keep you going. Camping facilities including showers also included. The Tuff Trophy Challenge will take place over the weekend of 24th-25th July 2010 at Tuff Terrains Off Road Site in Llandrindod Wells, Wales. We are the only club to use this site for competition use so will be a new site for some of you. The Tuff Trophy Challenge will operate a handicap system. Points will be awarded for "collecting punches" distributed around the event arena, but each punch will have a MAXIMUM score allocated to it. The teams will have a handicap rating for the event based on vehicle specification(Number of winches, axle type, Differential locks etc) and a team's handicap rating will determine the actual score attained for each punch gained. In addition to the collecting the punch's there will be a number of special stages over the weekend. A set of competition regulations will be sent to you on completion of the entry form. There is a limit of 20 cars/teams on this event so please if you wish to enter e-mail me at sales@challenger4x4.com to obtain an entry form. You can also call 01252 325930 or 07836 713677 and I will be happy to post you one. I will be putting a form available for download shortly on our website. I must stress that this event is very popular and I had to turn people away last year as there is no movement on entries, this is all the land owner will allow. So if you wish to enter please don't delay in completing your paperwork. Look forward to hearing from you. Lucy Bass Challenger 4x4

  16. Evening all. The rear door lock packed up recently on my 04 Disco 2 commercial so i bought a complete door at Sodbury sortout as it was (much) cheaper than bying a new replacement lock! Anyway the door i bought also has the subwoofer fitted so how easy is it to make work on my door? fitting shouldn`t be a problem but is the wiring already in place & if so is it connected at the other end or is it just more hassle than it`s worth. I will strip it out & have a look when time permits but has anyone tried this already & can give any pointers. Any help much appreciated! Paul

  18. Glad to hear you all enjoyed it, it makes it worthwile! Many thanks to all the marshalls and helpers without whom we would not be able to run this series. The general feedback i received was that it was harder than last time but that was the plan, to "up the ante" just a little and West Harptree is quite a hard site anyway particularly in the wet!!. Mainly because we cant really judge the level of entry until the day and i thought last seasons opener was a bit too tame, so now i have a better idea of this years competitors/vehicles skill then i can adjust the punches to suit for the next round....opinions/suggestions always welcomed! Hopefully Sara will be posting up the final score sheets as soon as she can but she also has a life to get back to on a Monday. I took quite a few pics myself but i dont have a clue how to upload them here so they will soon be on my facebook page & on our website, also Charlie Thorne from LRM took over 200 pics which he is kindly putting on a CD for us and of course look out for the feature in next months LRM. Look forward to seeing you all at Coney Green farm for round 2. Paul
  19. Yes as usual we will have sails, gloves, fire extinguishers, warning triangles and all the other things that you might need including a large stock of spares!!! But I am sure nobody will be needing them!! The nearest postcode to the site is BS40 6EN. DON'T FORGET YOUR MOT AS YOU WILL NEED IT FOR SCRUTINEERING!!!!! Also your MSA licenses, if you have not sorted this yet then you can do it on the day but only if you have a passport photo and a cheque made payable to the MSA for £23.00. Hop this makes it all clear but if not you can call me on my mobile which is 07836 713677. See you there!!!! Lucy x
  20. Tick,Tock,Tick,Tock,Tick,Tock.........only 2 days left to go to round 1! But of course we are all ready!
  21. Commitment is the key...you can go along and watch as many as you like but theres nothing like sending off your cheque and pencilling the date in the diary, then you have set yourself the deadline and you will do it!. The championship winner last year drove a full bodied hard top Defender 90 so dont be put off because your not driving a fully specc`ed tray back special. Its all about enjoying the day & if you dont commit then that day will never come! Paul
  22. Also : Team 28 Clive Billing and Luke Billing Thanks x
