  2. Lucy here, Thanks for all the positive comments we were a bit nervous with it being first round and all. We had a stressful but rewarding weekend which has obvoiusly been made better by lots of happy competitors. We want to encourage everyone to get to know each other throughout the series so if you are able to make it the evening before it is a great oppurtunity for everyone to meet each other over a beer or two. As the weather gets warmer we will probably bring a bar b along aswell !!! Speak soon. Lucy xx

  4. Evening all... Entries closed on Sunday & the final tally is 35 teams entered, many thanks for your support. As Simon says event starts at 10.00 AM Sunday with drivers briefing at 9.45 AM. Gates will be open from 2.00 PM Sat if you are really keen! & scrutineering will be available from 3.00 PM until Richard decides he`s had enough (6.00 ish). This is MOD property so bonfires are NOT allowed but Jack Daniels will be on duty for those that feel the cold Look forward to seeing you all there!! Paul
  5. Hi Simon, There will be scrutineering on saturday PM as we have a lot of cars to get through so we dont want to leave it all til sunday. I am having a pre-event scrutineering practice tomorrow with Richard so I will check with him then as to what times & I will post up tomorrow! Paul

Hello, Mrs Bass here, had a couple of people call re handicapping and I hope I have made it clear to them but as I said to them it is not set in stone and we will re-assess if we feel this is necessary, but please if you have any concerns at all please call me to discuss. I don't want anyone to feel that they are being unfairly handicapped. Please could anyone who has previously contacted me regarding marshalling give me a call as I want to know how many marshalls I have, people that just turn up on the day expecting to marshall may have to be turned away if I already have my quota.   10. We are currently seeking an experienced welder/fabricator to join our team. The main role is off road preperation..roll cages, tray backs, winch mounts but will also include other related duties such as MOT welding, fitting winches, difflocks & other accessories etc. Must be able to weld to a high standard & be able to provide a good tidy quality of finish to all work!! I am pleased to announce we have secured sponsorship from 'The International Off-Road Challenge of Malaysia' so in addition to the first prize we are providing we can also offer the chance to win one free entry in Rainforest Challenge Malaysia 2009. It is the biggest internationally represented 4x4 jungle adventure action event, the RFC takes place anually from the end of November to early December, with competitors and press hailing from 30 countries worldwide. The prize includes: One RFC 2009 competitor entry worth $2000(approx £1400) per team of two persons. This includes: Hotel accommodation - 2 nights pre-event and two nights post event. Rainforest challenge 2009 gift pack of promo items - RFC event adventure wear, etc. Event insurance coverage Application for special approval permit for foreign registered vehicle for use in Malaysia. Note: Airfare and freight costs are not included. It is hoped that the overall winner of the 2009 Tuff Trophy Challenge will represent their country in Malaysia, but due to time and financial constraints should the overall winnerhave to decline the prize, then the prize will be handed to the 2nd placed team, and so on until a team accepts the award.   15. Challenger 4x4 The Club would like to announce its 2009 Tuff Trophy Challenge. In association with Outback Import. The event will be in the form of punch challenge event and will be open to all, but membership of "Challenger 4x4 The Club" is mandatory for insurance purposes. Each team will consist of a driver , co-driver and vehicle. Great prizes will be up for grabs and of course a goody bag for each competitor. The weekends event will cost £175 per team. We will provide breakfast on Saturday and Sunday morning and a hot meal Saturday night before you go out on the night stage. Tea, Coffee and water stations will be around the event arena during the day to help keep you going. Camping facilities also included. The Tuff Trophy Challenge will take place over the weekend of 25th-26th July 2009 at Tuff Terrains Off Road Site in Llandrindod Wells, Wales. We are the only club to use this site for competition use so will be a new site for some of you. The Tuff Trophy Challenge will operate a handicap system. Points will be awarded for "collecting punches" distributed around the event arena, but each punch will have a MAXIMUM score allocated to it. The teams will have a handicap rating for the event based on vehicle specification(Number of winches, Differential locks) and a team's handicap rating will determine the actual score attained for each punch gained. In addition to the collecting the punch's there will be a number of special stages over the weekend. A set of competition regulations will be sent to you on completion of the entry form.   16. We have 3 team places reserved til the end of the month!! As it says on the blog the Extreme class & Hobby class should have 25 places each but due to the popularity of the Extreme class they are making more places available & less in the "hobby" class! Paul
  17. Hi Ade... We are looking for a team mate for Martin Stainer, So far we have..Andy Nash & Myself, Dom Brione & Vincent (another foreigner) which leaves Martin partnerless!!   19. Another favourite especially at places like Slab is to find the sleeve of the steering damper gets full of compacted sand & wont allow full lock to one side!! Paul
