  1. I think I could just about cope with the inside, then blindfold myself every time on exit/entry..
  2. How about one of these screwed to the bonnet? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Jumbo-Large-Garden-Conservatory-Thermometer-Temperature-Outdoor-Outside-/360744785636?hash=item53fe1096e4
  3. OK, mine is a 200tdi, with 120K miles, I do get a puff of black smoke on start up, but other than that I think it is in good nick. Thanks for the quick response. Oh, and a P38 which I could try using water instead to put it out of its misery...
  4. Just wondering, is it better to use budget oil and change every 3K or to use expensive oil and change every 6K? Or is it not that simple?
  5. I have heard of Snake Oil, but that's taking things too far!
  6. Might have to bite the bullet and buy a new crankshaft position sensor (£86) , I had come to the conclusion that would be the most likely suspect, unfortunately I damaged the P38 one when separating the engine and gearbox. And yes I have read cover to cover section 19
  7. It was a broken crankshaft, I have now replaced the block with an Omega one, retaining all off the P38 electrics, sump, flywheel, fuel pump,no4 injector ETC, Now it runs, but is very down on power until the revs to 2 or 3 thou, It also stalls if you let the revs drop down to tic over suddenly, and last night upon starting there was no throttle at all for 2-3 mins just tic over?? What have I done wrong?
  8. Hi driving along last week & all of a sudden the engine stops,so I pulled over into a handy layby & the engine turns over but not a sniff of trying to start. After towing back home and some investigation, the timing chains are still intact, as the cam shaft moves, there is power to the stop solenoid, the is fuel to the injection pump, but no fuel from a slacked off injector. So is my FIP knackered or is an ECU not talking to the FIP issue? Running out of ideas now
  9. The Heater intake is normally on the top of the wing (horizontal surface) and the engine air intake is on the vertical surface of the same wing.
  10. has not set their status

  11. Yes I could post them.

  12. Thanks for the quick reply, just for any other on board air people, this will also be needed.
  13. I hope to fit an A/C compressor to my Defender 200TDI, first I need to know what size threads (and depth) need tapping into the timing cover, also part no.s for the mounting/adjuster and the belt. ta.
  14. Yes!! thats the one, many thanks, will save me a 40 mile round trip to the LR Stealers.
  15. Does anyone happen to know the part no. for this as mine has broken in two places, cheers.
  16. My Tensioner has broken causing loud bang, loss of steering & Alternator light on, I wonder if anyone out there knows how to remove the tension arm thing, I have tried to undo it using the 17mm female hex, but it wont budge.
  17. Knipex were my first choice, but they were a litle more money & nobody had mentioned them but then again I dont use them that often so the Teng ones will be fine I am sure they will
  18. Thanks for all your recommendations, have bought a set of four Teng ones, not from Eblag as five pounds cheaper + free postage from elsewhere.
  19. After using some really cheap c**p circlip pliers & getting very angry with them , I am looking to replace them with some thing better, any idea's?
  20. Oh my, you have got a BIG ONE mister No bids yet
  21. No it does not squeal, and yes I will try replacing the fluid as it would save a few quid
  22. What difference is there between older pumps & the 200TDI?
