Hi all, To run a 140A (at 35% duty cycle or more) MMA stick inverter welder, what size power inverter (12VDC / 230VAC) would I need? Would any one recommend a reasonably priced onboard welding equipment for emergency jobs?

Ian, It's DIN standard (DIN # 72591) XLR may be better than a cig connector or the DIN cig connector but it's not as good as MIL standard connectors, eg. MIL-C 5015 screw thread military multipole connectors. It's about function vs price vs interchangeability. You can easily use a device with the red nosed DIN plug in a standard cig socket in any other car, but a device with a XLR connector will only fit another car with a matching XLR socket or an audio power amp :-)

DIN connectors are a tried and tested alternative. XLR are not reliable in the vehicle environment (don't like vibrations).

Thanks, guys, The BIOS setting is AUTO, so it should not affect the readsings. The problem I am having is as follows: I have dumped a FAT32 60GB hard disk to a file sector by sector. Then I restored the file to another HDD but bigger - 80GB. Everything seems to be fine and I can boot the machine from the new disk under Win2kPro. The one snag remains that in Win2k PRO SP4 the new disk is reported by disk management tools as both 60Gb and 80Gb, depending which properties information panel is used. Even though the disk seems to be working fine this will, I suspect, lead to problems in the future. Is there a setting in the MBR and/or FAT that can be edited to correct the problem?

Hello, My SIII has the Superwinch overdrive fitted. It appears to be working but iis very noisy when engaged. I never had a chance to investigate why but am just wondering what could be the cause. Is it lubricated separately from the gearbox? Des it need oil top-up/change?
