  1. You need a shark tooth rail above the window to hold the canvas down which for the life of me i cant find a clear picture off! but you say you have 3 straps above each door.do they have "D" rings on them? if so you have a 90 canvas roof and as such wont fit a series sorry!
  2. i know so far ive resisted making any permanent changes. its got to the point that i need more room to get the seat further back and too access stuff in the rear without undoing the canvas. i dont know if it is possible to undo the spot welds and remove the bulkhead but that would be the perfect answer. i could always put it back later on in life.
  3. its fitted with military under seat tanks so doesnt have an external filler. it also has defender seats so removing the bulkhead wont matter.
  4. Has anyone completely removed a swb series bulkhead? i'm seriously considering it.it would be the first mod ive made thats not reversible and thats a big step and as the motor is quite rare. could do with more space and dont want a lwb so back to the question has anyone completely removed the bulkhead. was it a big job ?how did you brace the body afterwards?
  5. Tony motor is 2.25. have just fitted megajolt lite and am now thinking of multipoint LPG injection rather than petrol.
  6. Tony i have the full power plus engine conversion from ACR it has been lightened and balanced including the flywheel, flowed and ported stage 2.1 head, high torque camshaft, new 1.75 inch su on their own manifold and their own exhaust manifold and silencer. this was mated to a new series 3 gearbox and transferbox and rebuilt axles with new 3.54 ratio diffs. it was on 235/70/16 road tyres not muds it was part ran in and we went to the lake district at 55 mph in convoy and on a whiff of throttle achieved 28mpg on the way there honestly. friends couldnt believe how little fuel i put in it! now that it is ran in its a different story i get about 15mpg as its just about flat out every where it goes and i love it glad i didnt go v8
  7. Well having just ran in my ACR power plus engine im quite happy. not quite a v8 but then again i didnt want a v8! (28mpg while running in!) just fitted megajolt lite that has made a big difference. was going to go spi next but am now thinking about lpg sequential gas injection instead.
  8. if you have to cut them down to cover the rot even cheepies will do. if your after quality then try here http://www.yrm-metal-solutions.com/ these guys seem to be pretty good. cheers

    2 1/4 Carbs

i spoke to roland at Acr about the engine before ordering he told me loads more torque at lower speeds etc. its much torqueyer (sic) now than it ever was.the engine is well tight as im only 400mile into a 2500 running in period but im impressed with it. before i had the carb kit and exhaust with a turner head and 4.7 diffs. now ive got the Acr engine and 3.54 diffs and it would beat it hands down even at running in limits plus at the last check im getting 21mpg!! only down side is the price oh and the ****ty paint job on the engine!

  15. close i was planning on using super strong aircraft adhesive if its good enough to hold aircraft together then a small bulkhead patch should cause it no problems!
  16. Can anyone tell me if the bulkhead corner repair panels have to be welded on for an mot?
  17. well i had my 200 tdi up to 21psi on my boost gauge. ran it like this for a few weeks it didnt half go! longevity got the better of me so i turned it back down. its now at 17 psi and there have been no i'll effects.
