  1. I fitted blue bushes from Polybush to my 90" this winter. The ride is awesome. Speedbumps, potholed gravel roads and the like can be driven at reasonable speeds in comfort.
  2. Put the transfer box in neutral. Then the thief will sit there rev'ing the engine wondering why the darn thing doesn't move at all ;-)
  3. My most recent powertool acquisition was a Bosch GSR 10,8 V-LI I used it for refurbishing an apartment and found that it will drive 5 mm screws into hardwood or 6-8 mm screws into softer woods with ease. It drives 40-80 screws on a charge with new batteries. It's small, light and a joy to use. During the apartment refurbishment project I only reached for the larger tools when absolutely necessary. Have any of you tried its impact cousin GDR 10,8 V-LI for mechanical jobs such as Land Rover maintenance?
  4. Test finished. The winch operates perfect now. Thanks for the help, it lead us strait to the solution. Much appreciated. We will participate in Pomerania at the end of this week, and really look forward to winching for long periods without overheating or low battery issues.
  5. We have had a look at the location of the "little disc". It appears that we did place it in the correct hole and oriented correctly according to the installation instructions, but that we swapped the hoses to the winch around. We are sorting this at the moment and will test it later today after having aired the system out.
  6. Having installed a Milemarker H12 we set out to test it on a hill. Uphill went fine, no funny noises and a nice steady pull in low gear. Upon reversing however, the winch screamed at us, the speed varied quite a bit between 2x and 4x the uphill speed, with a period of say one meter of cable, as if the winch alternated between freespooling and providing some resistance. What could be wrong? The winch, pump, control block and installation instructions are those available as a kit from www.4x4winches.com.
  7. I run 235/85R16 on rrc rostyle rims on a 1988 90". On the danish registration document for my 90" it says that legal tire dimensions are from 205/80R16 to 235/85R16. The tires fit fine with no rubbing, and they look well proportioned on the Land Rover. As to rim width. The tires neither bulge nor seem pinched in, so I would say the rostyle width is about right for the dimension.
  8. Just for the record. Both my former 2,5 n/a and my present 2,5 td have that connector sitting unused, and no obvious sender to connect it to.
  9. Try something like a Blue Bosch GBM 13 HRE 550 rpm at no load Low gearing is what you need, not electronic speed control.
  10. 1) Drill a vertical line of approx. 4 mm holes into the nut using an ordinary electrical drill. 2) Hammer a flat chisel into the line of holes until it hits the threaded stud that forms the end of the shock, then withdraw it. 3) Then the nut will unscrew real easy. If you apply an angle grinder or anything else that spews metal bits all over the place, be carefull to cover the generator, engine inlet manifold etc. first.
