  1. Thanks for all the replies, I have only had the truck for two weeks. I have driven it 120 miles in one go the day I got it and a few wee stints irreparable and the needle has been steady. I paid careful attention to this even though I didn't know I had no fan. I will continue to keep a closer eye for now.
  2. Just went to remove the cowl so as to gain access to fit the new PAS and alternator belts and discovered that the cupboard was bare ! There is no viscous coupling, fan or anything else blowing on the radiator ! Mmm, what should be there ? Googling reveals a viscous coupling which I guess connects to a proper fan which in turn blows through the cowl to the radiator ? There are also pics of this removed and a fan fitted to the radiaror direct. Having nothing to start with, what should I do ?
  3. Thanks again recoveryman, you are proving to be invaluable. Although it's not that one it has helped me to work out thats its is most probably the ESR2242 Image taken from passenger side. You may be able to see the diesel all around the seam, it's worse at the rear where it attaches to cross member.
  4. After a bit of a scare with a window regulator I have decided to check with the knowledgeable on what fuel tank I will need for my 1993 Defender 90 County.
  5. I got in contact with the seller who assures me that the regulators are interchangeable Well done recoveryman, you was right !
  6. Do the bulbs just pull out or twist or what ?
  7. No luck, just took door apart and the new part is bigger than the old.
  8. The warning light for my diff lock isn't working although I know the diff lock is. Is it possible to remove and replace the wee bulbs ? I took the panel out but didn't want to tug at them in case I broke something
  9. Here's hoping, I already ordered another winder to fit this regulator when I noticed it was different.
  10. I have just taken delivery of a front RHS window regulator MUC3024 to find that the winder attachment is also different from mine. Heres thew new one. So I have now ordered a new winder. Not content with the current list of jobs, Fred ( short for Red Fred ) now had has a leaking fuel tank ! Possibly not noticed all week due to the tank being half full and the several days of heavy rain. The tank was just filled and I notided the leak and the fact that I only got 19 MPG ! I'm hoping it's around the joint and won't leak if less than half full to give me time to have a close look at it. Siphoned out 20l into a jerry can
  11. Cheers, I will give the bending method a try and let you know what happens.
  12. My recently purchased 1993 Defender 90 has a wee gap at the top of the passenger door where the wind comes in, doesn't really bother me but the wife's complaining I managed a slight adjustment by moving the catch on the pillar in but there's still a gap. Would I get any vertical adjustment from loosening the hinges a little and the 'jacking' up the door with spacers before re tightening ? The overall alignment looks OK.
