  1. Grab yourself some OS maps of the area: http://www.aboveandbeyond.co.uk/shop/Explo...p-1-c-1003.html Number 123, this one: http://www.aboveandbeyond.co.uk/shop/Explo...ead-p-6062.html there is some there which are all good fun.
  2. Hello As Diesel Jim was saying, im plannning of having a seperate pump from the aux tank to the main tank controlled on a switch, with fuel gauge and sender. I would like to be able to auto off this the aux tank pump when the main fuel gauge reaches full . This would ensure i cannot over fill the main tank. It would be good to have that system allisports was on about, as this would save having to make a new fuel filler hole and filling the aux tank easier. For controlling the outflow, there is a top hole used for overfill cutoff (well i think it's that), and a bottom hole which is the out for the aux pump. I have a little adaptor which does fit to a small pipe, hence my thinking that the aux pump plumbs into the overfill pipe on the main tank. I brought this off Sarfi Equip, apparently it comes with fitting instructions but I have not found them yet, and I can't get hold of them???
  3. good thing is you can wait until the price drops until next time you fill up... (well sort of) and that's if someone knows how it should be fitted.
  4. Sorry, I was hoping that someone had an idea about these bits: "just wondering where to plumb in the pipe, do I put it to the overflow pipe on the main fuel inlet? So it goes tank out - extra fuel pump - main inlet overflow tube? This way I can fill up the main tank off the aux. Or, do I plug it into the pipe that leaves the main tank and goes into the main fuel pump, to me it feel like the other way is better. Also how do you safeguard aux fuel pump shuting off when the main tank gets full?" As the position of my tank is under the RH side, exhust do not get in the way as this runs down the middle.
  5. You need this added to you bonnet, or it could act as a false snorkle... http://forums.lr4x4.com/index.php?showtopic=24987
  6. I have this Genisis system that does this, you can set it to winch assist where it connect both batteries togther if you want more power, or you can set it to start assist, where it connect the two again incase the main one is out of charge. Usually it just manages the split charge and totally works.
  7. Could only find this one: http://forums.lr4x4.com/index.php?showtopi...mp;hl=duel+tank does not really say much though?
  8. Hey Scotian yeah I thought that, hence the optima as they are like gel batteries you can use for power storage when using solar power in you home (well im pretty sure). anyhow, I was consideirng getting a small solar pannel and fiting it to a roof box, and wiring these up to the batteries with an on/off switch, is it called a battery maintainer?
  9. so putting in an extra tank under the right hand side. Just wondering where to plumb in the pipe, do I put it to the overflow pipe on the main fuel inlet? So it goes tank out - extra fuel pump - main inlet overflow tube? This way I can fill up the main tank off the aux. Or, do I plug it into the pipe that leaves the main tank and goes into the main fuel pump, to me it feel like the other way is better. Also how do you safeguard aux fuel pump shuting off when the main tank gets full? questions, questions... driving to the alps on Friday, be keen to get this done before then.
  10. Yeah that is what I was thinking? At the moment I have the light force running off the other battery as they are only used rarely. I guess the trouble might be is if you are winching in the dark? I think the HID main lights, so I can then switch the lightforce onto the the main one. And at least I can then winch in the dark ish
  11. The bulbs are 100/90 watt, Im gonna change the main lights to HID lights to save a bit of power, and my side lights are already LED's, along with the rest of the lights / indicators etc the light force are Lightforce 240 XGT.
  12. Got 4 Warn spots to add to the roof rack, was gonna wire them to the main starter battery. You think this is ok, as I have some light force running off that too. The battery is a Red top Optima. Got a yello top for the winch and extras.
  13. Ok, not sure if someone has said this already (my computer is a bit series 1 so I can't see all posts at once). Could it be that it is part of the stereo system, Audio left and right? As it could be there so you can connect another speaker to that, and then through into the doors? Just a thought. Try getting an old speaker and just jimmy the wire's into it. If there is no power coming from it then that might be it?
  14. i reckon the Black is an Earth, and the Purple is permantly Live. Stick a glow screwdrive in it and see if it glows.
