  1. Looking for 2"+ I want to fit 265/85 R16 and while they would fit under standard arches it'd be less likely to rub if the car was lifted a little. Are Heavy Duty rears standard equipment on the Disco, otherwise it'll be as expensive as getting proper springs surely? Also is it possible to use a dislocation setup with the spacers? Oh and what are red and white stripes? (sorry, I'm such a noob...) Ta Matt B
  2. Thanks Mr Llama I'll give you a ring then Matt B
  3. Thanks guys, that is great advice, so to summarise I'd be better off just packing the standard springs for the time being until I can stretch to OME springs? Matt B
  4. As it says on the tin really, I'm looking at giving the classic a much needed lift but need to keep things in a VERY tight budget. Paddock do the basic lift kit for £180ish delivered with Super Gaz or for just over £30 more the Pro-Comp shocks. Bearing in mind that the difference in price will pay for my braided flexi lines is there that much difference? The classic has had some modification in that weight has been removed through bobtailing, pickup conversion and removal of things like the air con, interior etc but has been added with the inclusion of a full roll cage and front and rear HD tube bumpers, it currently has no winch / winch bumper. It is intended for use primarily off road but will need to be driven to events. Any advice is really appreciated. Matt B
  5. Hello I'm after a non sunroof roof panel and a kerbside rear panel (the one with the wheel arch in it). Has anybody got one that they want rid of in the South West please? Thanks Matt B
  6. Stick it on the road and use it for off roading, not a daily driver though. Matt B
  7. £100 - £500. My nephew used to work on them and rates them quite highly but it strikes me that if they have been beaten around by the MOD then left to sit in a field you probably get what you pay for? Matt B
  8. Has anyone had any experience of buying one of the super cheap 109's? If so is it a good deal or do you end up spending a fortune on it? Any advice welcome. Matt B
  9. I think that the hard stuff that is often found under duct tape is called Tiger Seal, DumDum is the stuff that stays semi soft isn't it? . I might be wrong. Matt
  10. It is to be sure. I'm just looking into that ebay link, it dosn't say if they'll carry steels or whether the price would cover 5 - I'll keep you all posted. Thanks so much for the kind offers of help. Matt
  11. Thanks Guys, very much appreciated. Time is not an issue for my part but I know that Pete needs them out of his way. So Pete, you can get them to the J4 NEC end of the M6, does that count as West Midlands? V8amel, you can get them to Taunton. Pugwash can get them to Cornwall! I can collect them any time any place within Cornwall / Devon, if it comes to it I have a friend in Taunton who I could collect them from. All we need to do is sort some timings and a bit of gratitude on my part and we are cooking with gas! Thanks Matt
  12. Hi I need to get 5 wheels and tyres from Northwich in Cheshire to Helston in Cornwall. Due to the weight the cost is prohibitive, if anyone is making the trip anyway then I could contribute to your fuel. Matt
  13. Hi I currently have a RRC which I have been modifying to help it (and me) off road, mods so far include bobtailing by 400mm and converting to a pickup. I will be fitting a +2" lift etc after the MOT is passed. Enough boring you all about me, on to my question: I have a second chassis which is destined to be clad with a North Offroad GRP body akin to the one owned by D-Lander. It needs galvanizing but before I do so I would like to look at shifting the motor back either 250mm or right the way to the back akin to the Bowler beasts. The obvious issues I see are engine mounts, gearstick position and drive. Mounts I can cope with the others seem to be pretty insurmountable to the average Joe. Has anybody done this, if so how do you overcome the fact that the boxes will be in the wrong place as will the driveshafts. (I have a 5 speed manual box fitted to a 3.5 V8). Matt B
