  1. I've heard that Allisport are new selling a speed delimiter module for the NewDef....

I've seen a few companies claiming they can do it.. but when contacted it's always... "final stage of development".

So... as Allisport are actually selling it... Do you know if anyone else is "actually" doing it ?

  2. OK,

got the gaz emptied and remocve the parts from the engine bay:

My setup seems to be different from other discos ??? (my disco is a bit weird... was a GS pre-series... ie an S trim with the GS add-on)

tell me what pipe do you want:

  3. Hello All........

I'm not on here very often but please bear with me.......... Stephen, aka SCL, has written a very definitive piece of info in the tech section on the alarm spider.............

My 1996 Disco North American Standard just recently chucked all of the toys out and refuses to start......

I've narrowed it down to the Multi Function Unit or...........the alarm spider.........

I just happen to have the factory "bypass" gizmo (mentioned in Stephen's post) on hand here.......

I am about to tear into accessing the spider unit but i have a "nagging" question..........

If i fit the bypass "part" will the locking system, etc, still function ??

    All replys appreciated...............

    Cheers

    Dave...........

the thing is that you may not have a spider unit.... 300tdi EDC with autobox do not use spiders.. immobiliser is part of the ECU..

  4. OK, let me empty the gaz...

    and I'll removing the bits...

I guess the compressor, tensioner and pipes from the engine bay will be removed very quickly....

(for those interested... pm me an offer)

Note: the aircon works fine, the compressor is making a bit of noise in the morning those days but stops after a little while.. not sure if it is bearing or just old belt... or the tensioner....

  5. Well...maybe that is why mine smokes a lot...higher torque, less BHP. However I do not have larger intercooler...the guys overhere don´t get bigger intercoolers as they say it increases the lag in accelarating at low revs (what you need in offroading). I´ve got to give them credit on one thing....I really do not have any lag whatsoever, comparing to other remaped Td5s, which are very weak in low revs, but then have "power explosions"

mid-range is where I got the best improvement.

which is what I wanted for my "road-going" disco... I can cruise on the MWay, and overtaking is so sweet.

I did not want more torque... I would have be worried for my R380... 9I'm sure they can take more than 380Nm.. but I don't want to play with it.... too much )

  6. Hi,

I don't use the aircon, it takes a lot of room in the engine bay... I'd like to remove it...

1- what about the gaz... do I need to go to a specialist ?

2- is there any connection/things that I need to be careful about when unbolting the bits?

3- is it something that people may be interested to buy on eBay/classified ? or will it go to the tip ?

    thanks

  7. I got my 2004 Disco td5 fully tuned (remap/intercooler/EGR/...) by Allisport...

    196bhp / 400Nm (on the rolling road) - I'm quite happy with it !!! B)

not much more smoke, and a bit better economy if I drive at 70mph..

  8. Hi All,

Anyone know anything about Land Rover shows, get togethers, meets in spain?.

i`m sure there is one around May each year but cannot find out where i heard about it, any help greatfully appreciated, i

are you sure you are not talking about the Landmania gathering in the south of France each year in May ?

  9. Any more news on why they have closed and whether or not they plant to re-open, I used to buy all my service items from them (a real shame)

There has been some change of direction in the management.

Simon (one of the Difflock "manager/founder/whatever") is looking at re-opening it as soon as he can with the same name, same product (or more)...

    be patient...

  10. I had a chip from allisport and it was made by tunit and it was okay but not worth the money ie i swas pretty dissapointed.

Got it chipped and intercooled by jjfearn and it flew gave a few d2 a run for their money.

Much like my current d2 gives d3 a run for their money well actually is doesnt it wins!

    Lynall

I did not put the plug&play chip but the proper re-chipping in the ECU with new mapping. it goes well.

    That's why I went back for my D2... (now 196bhp and 400Nm)

I guess all engine are different so the chipping will be more or less effective.

  11. In my Disco1 (fairly similar) I fitted my CB in the headline pocket over the driver head (I just had to unscrew it a bit) and it just fit.

I put the speaker and the mic near the sunroof controls and ran the wires under the headlining.

  12. Just for comparison...

I took my Disco td5 Manual (fully Allisport tuned) for a Dyno test.

Results were 400Nm and 196bhp (flywheel "estimate") - and 130bhp at the wheels.

it really "flies" on the road.

I've got also a Disco 300tdi auto (Allisport tuned as well) that was tested.

The tester would not give me flywheel estimate as they say that auto box cannot be accurately estimated.

However the power at the wheels (Mud 245/75/16) was only 60bhp... even if is goes very well compared to other Disco tdi.

  13. Hello,

a friend of mine in France is looking for a a VERY good bodyshop for his RRc...

There are a few in France but none have experience with Land Rover vehicles...

He will need someone who knows how to dismantle the panels/trims for a "as new" paint job, able to change panel seals and small bits when required....

    any good address ?

    preferred in the South East....

    thanks
