  1. certainly will do Will.

glad the sailing went well Tim, we had a fantastic day out on Sat at Tonys then had a couple of hours ont hw water out of Torquay on Sun, a brilliant weekend.

slight change on meeting point, how about the car park at the top of the hill NE out of West Bagborough, 180 339 for 0900hrs?

i currently have 11 lanes planned finishing over by Dulverton. some of the early ones i havent driven before but have mountain biked and ran them - a bit narrow at points. majority are stoney undertyre. i will need to meet up with Scottydo from 1300hrs onwards and we will probably be done by 1530hrs or so. i was planning on taking a lunch with me as you can never be sure where you might end up around lunch time.......

  2. may be coincidence.

does it improve (get lighter) as the system warms up? is it stiff all the time or just in certain places as you turn the wheel?

try jacking the front so both wheels off the ground (low, diff in) chocked rear, and try to trun the wheels side to side, is it unecessarily stiff still? disconnect the drag linkl, if its still stiff then preloads need adjusting or ball joints, if its OK it means the problem is either pump, box, or steering column UJs, i would start looking at them in reverse order.

also check the drop arm ball joint and bleed the system.

  3. definately, you are more than welcome.

    3 vehicles is perfect.

Tim, hedley(hope the siling was good) the Bash certainly was

we could meet in Bishops Lydeard on the thur am, what time would suit? choose one of: 0800, 0900, 1000, 1100. or on the half hour. i am easy although not before 0600 would be my preferance...!!!!!!!

  4. i have the anti birst locks as well, they just doent have inside handles without fiddling around with the existing front unlock system - hence why i went for the old type locks - much simpler. (and cheaper)

someone was asking about the price of doors, the answer is i dont know but APB Trading Ltd on 01299 250174 had new tops and bottoms at the LRO show email apb@dircon.co.uk

i have never used the above and dont know prices, but said i would enquire for a few people so there you go.

  5. Tony & Val

cheers for a fantastic weekend, well laid out punches and something for everyone on sat and excellent food, thank you Val.

Peter and I had a great day and we weren't last!!!! Darth and John thanks for being great team mates and game for anything, shame about the PTO winch, a very impressive peice of kit especially on acute pulls.

i have a couple of pics uploading currently and will post them soon.

James enjoyed his day out after getting over the shock of seeing bucket seats in Will Warnes motor, who he was bi**ching for and was suitably impressed by the end of the day. Another fan hooked hopefully.

Thank you Tony for squaring a seat away for Dan with Mike. although i dont think he sepnt much time sat in it, he had certainly earn't his beer by the end of the day and really enjoyed it, hopefully sowing the seed to get his FIP up and running in the near future.

It was good to meet alot of the forum members, although briefly, and catch up with others.

cheers for a great bash - whos next in line to try and do one better then??????

    pics to follow

  6. what no prizes............. and i was hoping to finish in the top ten as well.............................

left a msg for Dan, i am assuming hes up for crewing with Mike, if i hear anything different i will let you know tomorrow at some point prior to event.

will be leaving home 2030 tomorrow with James (and Dan hopefully) see you then.

  7. i run an xd9000i on the front of mine, yep freespool seized soon after i had it although prob due to lack of use. since i have started using it more often its been fine, no problems (touching wood) to date and quite happy with it. no brake problems either. its gained my confidence now anyway. i run it with 9mm Dyneema and ali hawse fairlead. Its had a fair number of dunkings and works fine although i think i will moce the solenoids out of the bridge at some point and relocate them inside the vehicle. thats when the time permits!!!!

  8. Spectric,

thats the exact same conclusion i also came to.

    ditto 255/85s on a 1.4 T i reckon is the same a 238/85s and a 1.22 t box.

interesting how Western can cruise with 255/85, 1.4 box (i think) and GKN over drive. mine wouldnt pull that, same engine as well. with 255.85s 5th is almost a mortorway only gear.

  9. pulled the UJ apart this morning and bottom one was kanckered, only moved in one plan, new one duly fitted (£25 blo**dy h*ll) seems better - i say seems as havent taken it out yet.

so now just an alternator bracket to make up, leaks to stop, front suspension to sort out and some dampers for the rear and it will be half finished.
