  1. I'm currently running a set of 255/85/16 BFG mud's on mach 5 wheels, couple of them have suffered sidewall damage from offroading, one of them is still tubeless and beginning to leak. Obviously if i whack a tube in there this will fix the problem, but it got me thinking - should I really look at replacing the whole tyre bearing in mind I occasionally have to travel long distance at motorway speeds, putting a lot of stress on the tyre. Would like to keep using the tyre if I can as theres loads of tread on it. What's the best thing to do??
  2. I would have thought the time and expense of converting it back to a vehicle more suitable for trips, would make that idea less appealing, the spec is a bit overkill for that kind of thing.. having seen this vehicle in the flesh, I reckon you'd have no problem finding a buyer at a decent price, if you were prepared to wait a few weeks. devon 4x4 forum probably the best place to advertise..
  3. classic, who knows it may even get approved..
  4. I've got this one in mine, takes about 30 mins to fit or in my case 3 hours
  5. Anyone got any ideas as to what could be causing the fuse to blow every time I go to use the horn on my 200 tdi, what should i be checking first, before I go and replace the horn itself..
  6. At the end of the day, London is a massively overcrowded hellhole, which at its epicentre can be extremely nauseating particularly when driving in, the congestion charge was brought about to try and alleviate this to an extent. If anyone has a better idea on how to deal with this problem then lets hear it. If you've bought a landie to do your weekly shop on oxford street like some on here appear to have then you need your head examining..
  7. Not everyone works 9-5 sunshine, in fact a lot of businesses particularly the big ones are 24 hour operations..
  8. I assume you have used buses and tubes in london on a frequent basis? Why ever would you want to take an elderly parent into center of london - it's no place for the frail I'm afraid
  9. In my experience (biking into the west end day in day out) traffic levels have dropped since the congestion charges inception. Of course businesses will just adjust their prices, but some businesses will be able to make large cost savings every year by only going into the zone after 7 at night or before 7 in the morning, increasing profitability. Besides the charge is really aimed at those who drive around needlessly in the zone in oversized vehicles which belong on fast motorways racetracks or in the mud!!
  10. There is no need to drive into the center of London in any vehicle unless it's for business use, taking the tube/bus tio and from work is much quicker and less stressfull. Congestion charge is the only way of managing vehicle numbers within the city, otherwise there'd be gridlock and both road users and pedestrians lose out.
  11. This just opens the door for garages to take the p**s
  12. Don't suppose anyone has the above or a description of which coloured wire to which terminal on the back of the starter switch?
  13. I always contest these fines before paying.. That's what they want you to do give in quickly and pay up. Appealing against parking and bus lane fines is free and time consuming for the council , so far I've won 4 lost 1.
  14. whitbread cage Seems a good deal, though the chassis mounts dont look as robust as some Anyone got one from whitbread before or thinking about getting one?? what's the catch??
  15. Yes very strange - I can sit in that truck and turn it over ten times or more with nothing, open the door and the beast starts first time - must have started it like that for two or three weeks now..
  16. Here's a strange thing - I've noticed that it's far more likely to start if the drivers side door is open while turning the ignition.. what could be the reason for that?? wierd
  17. Cheers for the help guys and thanks for the chart western, top man!! I'll let you know what happens..
  18. I'm currently experiencing some starting probs with the 200. The ignition is fine and the engine turns over, but it dies after a few seconds, only after repeated attempts does it eventually fire up, anyone got any suggestions on what I should be looking to check first cheers ed
  19. cheers guys went for the 7.50r16 fitment..
  20. I am currently looking for one to fit a 255/85/16 tyre and not having much joy, can anyone recommend a good supplier.. cheers B)
