  1. Definitely running a lot faster now..
  2. I'm currently running 4 x Simex 35 / 10.5 / 16 on my latest truck and i need a spare, due to the short supply of Simex at the mo, was wondering what tyre is available that matches the simex's height with a mud pattern. Bearing in mind that both of the simex copies out there are supposedly 35 inch, but in reality they are either bigger or smaller..
  3. Well this forum has certainly saved me plenty of time and money (with the usefull advice i've been given) and I've met plenty of like minded people along the way, got to be worth dipping your hands in your pockets for..
  4. My Jackall hi-lift is currently playing up - seems to go up fine but doesnt like coming down - is there anywhere you can send them to get them fixed or is it a case of buying the maintenance kit from paddocks and fixing it yourself? cheers Ed B
  5. Woodlands 4x4 is only 19 acres woodlands I suppose it depends on the amount of vehicles you let onto the site..
  6. How does that work as the chimney gets gradually demolished? Surely at some point the digger has to be entirely supported by the crane so as to level off the area supporting the three pronged base?
  7. Yes my old one had the tweaks and the intercooler done, but this one is standard. I'm just finding it hard to believe that this lack of oomph in higher gears is down to the gearing / tyres alone. Put your foot down in 3rd or 4th on even a shallow hill and doesnt seem to have any torque whatsoever..
  8. I've just bought a challenge 200 tdi 90 with 4.11 diffs, discovery transfer box and simex 35's. Just wondered what effect these mods would have on the acceleration in the higher gears. It seems to me to be way down on power in 3rd and 4th particularly on hills compared to my previous 200 tdi. I first thought that it may have some kind of problem with the turbo, but the previous owner assures me its down to the tyre / gearing combo. Anyone gone to a similar setup, with the same effect As always any advice much appreciated.. Ed B
  9. You were spot on about the chequerplate mat stuff, perfect for lining the cab, better get meself a couple of rolls before someone paints it orange and charges twice the price!!
  10. If ever there were a better way to describe ebay Sell It, Buy It, Love It !! I've just bought a truck cab meself, though being a challenge truck it's a bit more rough around the edges than yours.. picking it up on saturday, can't wait..
  11. Anyone bought any of these off eblag? Angel lights wouldn't they have to be e-marked to be road legal? Was looking into replacing my sealed beams..
  12. Don't worry about that, I've been into landies for a while now and still have plenty of dumb questions By the way , where did you get it from? - I'm sure I saw that truck on ebay a while back.. p.s. "Goldie" you're not that drum n' bass guy with the gold teeth are you?
  13. I used black camping mat cut to shape, to cover the seat boxes and then used carpet glue to secure it in place, looks very tidy, if you take your time with it.. (no piccies as I've just sold the truck, but i'm definitely gonna do the same with my next project)
  14. Anyone got any good recommendations for insurance brokers for the above, am currently insured with firebond on a classsic policy, doesnt list the mods but goes on an agreed value or something like that. Who do you insure yours with? cheers Ed B
  15. When i fitted an Allisport full width intercooler, I began to experience slight overheating in the summer months due to the flow of air to the rad being restricted, I replaced it with the 40% one. Also fitting one will limit your front winch options due to the lack of space behind the grill caused by fitting it. Do the tweaks yourself, just make a note of the original settings first, so you can take it back to standard should the need arise. The EGT guage is definitely a good idea also..
  16. looks like a vast improvement over the previous one..
  17. anyone got any good recommmendations for the above, am currently soundproofing areas of the 90 with camping mat.. cheers
  18. try here sticker Landrover killer, that's a bit severe isn't it?
  19. Yep take it to gwyn, recently had some work done there, absolutely top draw service, which is more than can be said for some others.. you won't meet a more honest and upfront guy IMHO
