  1. Thanks Bish, much obliged. I surely couldn't condone vandalating my own windscreen... But with the amount of stones that bounce off it each week from the Tarmac wagons that are on our roads it surely wont be long!

Yeah, i did. Simple things in life that make you happy! Didn't need to force S-J (check the Land Rover fleece), she'd just come back in it and i got her to stop so i could take a pic so that TJ doesn't tell me off for not fitting my snorkel again! Oh, anyone got some flexi pipe so i can link my snorkel to my air filter?...
  3. I got mine from Paddocks, £10 a go and cheap disposable shocks @ £9.50 each. Delivery was less than £20. Daresay carraige to Costa Rica would be more than i paid though...
  4. Hi everyone, Please don't laugh at these questions. On the 'control panel', for want of a better description, on the dashboard you've got the windscreen button (rectangular) for the rear window and the 'wiper arc' button for the front heated windscreen. 1) How do i check the switches are functioning correctly once i've taken them out of the dash? 2) Is it ok to solder onto the heated rear window? One of my connections has come off... 3) Anyone recommend a stockist for heated front windscreens? Thanks very much Dunc (happy again!)

Hi Chaps, Long awaited pic as promised of my baby, now she's back (and muddy) again. As you must all now bear me witness, i am NEVER selling this truck. Even if the body rots away and i build a 100", she's here for good. best thing, the Mrs is chuffed to bits to have the baby back... Just got to sell the Volvo i bought and teh Series 2a now...

    Good news

Hello mate, Snorkel is fitted, just that it was an old photo! I took a great photo last year of the wife stood next to it when we were on radio duties on a rally and it looked ace. Unfortunately it seems to have abdicated... Take another when she comes home.
  7. I find a flick through a mag, warm brew in the kitchen and moan to the wife about how hard it all is gets me going again.
  8. Hi everyone, Just had to share some good news with you. In early december i had to sell my 110 and (with much reluctance) my Rangey. Well, following a mild financial turnaround and a week of emails to my Rangey's new owner... she's coming back! I will have my gorgeous baby back and i'm chuffed to bits about it. I daresay i'll let you know once she's back.
  9. erm, if the Prima fitting kits will enable a Rover 200 petrol to go in, wouldn't it also enable you to fit the 200 Turbo Diesel?
  10. Bloody hell! Guess i'll start researching the Prima more. Thanks chaps
  11. Turbo manifold and exhaust pipe need to be swapped for Defender with a Disco Tdi as i understand. I've had a few Disco Tdis, both 200 & 300 and a Defender 200 so i've a rough idea of problems to look for. If i could find an engine at that price i wouldn't buy the Montego because he wants £300+ for that. I think Steve Parker does exhausts for Tdi Series conversions, but i'm not sure where to get the other bits. Have to think long term and do a bit more research i guess.
  12. And if anyone can figure either a/ How i managed to add my topic twice b/ How the hell to delete it i would be very grateful to hear from you!
  13. Hi everyone and Happy New Year to you all. Shortly before Christmas i sold my Rangey and my 110 and for the first time (until today) was Landy-less. I've now done a deal with my mate who bought my SWB 2a a couple of years ago and i've bought it back! Questions: Montego Diesel (Prima) vs TD vs 200Tdi. The Monty (Perkins Prima) is cheap, the TD is plentiful and the 200Tdi is reliable and powerful. I fancy the Prima, but should i save up for the 200Tdi? Always been in love with Tonk (the truck, not Mark!) and as that's now Tdi power, perhaps it's the way to go? I'm financially stuffed currently, so i have to work on a strict (and small) budget. To this end i know where i can lay my hands on a complete Montego which is a major thought. Any advice or suggestions appreciated. It's good to be back! Cheers.
  14. All rather acedemic now Bish, got outbid from my budget and the axles didn't make their reserve anyway. They were non-ABS (same as my Rangey) hence my excitement. Looks like i'll have to keep looking for a nice pair of newer axles to transfer.
  15. Hi Everyone, I've got a 1990 'H' plate Range Rover Vogue 3.9 V8 with a manual 5-speed short-stick 'box. Today on ebay i stumbled accross a pair or Disco 300Tdi axles complete with diffs, swivels, calipers, etc etc Question: Will they fit the Rangey? I always thought that Rangey/Disco bits were pretty much identical. They would be perfect for sorting our my grumbly front diff and my leaky rear axle casing! I doubt the diff ratios would be different, would they? Auction has only got a day and a bit to run, so any info or advice in a timely manner would be very much appreciated! Thanks again
  16. Hmm, never thought about it like that SQL. Maybe i should chuck Colway A/T's on and save up for the Amazon/Sahara/Extreme/Macho and some other rims. What i save with the Colways might help fund the spare set.
  17. I've got the Colway A/Ts on my Rangey and they're fantastic tyres. The more i think about it, the more confused i get! Be interesting to see what Bronco say about the 265 Grip Edge. I still fancy the Amazon/Sahara type though!
  18. I fancied these until i saw the price!
  19. Thanks Mark. Yes, i know the tyre is similar to the Amazon and the Sahara, it really is what i'd like but i'm worried about losing wet weather on-road braking and too much vibration. I can't afford to have 2 sets of tyres anymore, so i ned to try and find one that will satisfy both.
  20. Thanks mate Leg, spiral facture of fibia horn and complex fracture of the ankle. 2 titanium screws fitted. Bloody hurts!
  21. By the way, i think these look delicious, but i don't want to completely destroy my on-road handling and i can't afford to change them once i've got them! I've also emailed Bronco to see if they do these in 265/75;
  22. Hi everyone, I've done a search of threads about tyres, but most of them talk about sizes and rims etc, but i know what size i want and i've got the rims, just a bit of user info about some of the tyres please. If possible, please can anyone who has the following tyres fitted to a 110 or 90 tell me what they're like under normal driving conditions, wet braking, 80-85mph motorway speeds, vibration, cabin noise, wear rate, self cleaning properties, clay, mud, grass etc etc... 1) Insa Turbo Sahara 2) Technic Amazon 3) Bronco Grizzly Claw 4) Colway C-Trax M/T I'm not sure whether to replace the current BFG A/T 265/75 with the same again or get one of the tyres listed above, so any comparisons from experience is appreciated. Any suggestions for other tyres greatfully received too. Ideally i want to get away from the second set of rims thing which means whichever set of tyres i'm on i wish i was on the others! Currently the 2nd set are Tracker remoulds and i'm sure as heck not having those again because they slide in the wet and vibrate like a dutch night workers plaything... Thanks in advance Dunc. B)
