  1. Cheers for that,

I am still having all dorts of problems really with this issue.

I emailed portal rover and MRW, neither have got back to me.

So I then thought go for the maxis creepy's on my other modulars, found a good price then I found after emails that maxxis are constantly changing prices etc. so this particular company didn't know when they would get the next lot in andf how much they would be. But this still does not solve my problem, as I want to run the mickey thompson's as they perform really well, look great etc. I might just get some standard mach 5's without the beadlocks, but then I will not be able to run my low pressures!

  2. I have just had fitted a straight through stainless silencer from double s' sports system and no other silencing. It also has the janspeed manifolds and it sounds just right. TBH I was hoping for a little louder rasp but it is well and truely respectable. It makes enough noise to sound sweet and is quite enough in the cab to have a conversation without raising your voice. If you are interested in that the box diamensions are; 520mm long, 205mm wide, and 150mm deep.

    HTH

  3. Yes there sure was Ross, they were in Scotland and sold last month. Although if a set comes up I will consider those first.

I have just had a quick fly through ebay and found quite a tasty deal. 35/12.5 16 creepy £119.75 inc. vat and p+p each. I have email the guy to see if his shop has 5 in stock, if he does I will have them........all thanks to Paul! Cheers

  4. yep, exactly Jim

If they clog more then more air will be removed :P

The fedima's say a 35" tyre but they are more like 36" onwards, which for me is too big. I want to keep my obtail as low as possible whilst running the biggest size tyres for that lift. That is 70mm spring lift means I can run a 35" tyre with no problems with rubbing etc.

  5. Jim, I just can't justify spending that much money of wheels. Anything that I try and get from America will cost a bomb in shipping and tax. And over here there just isn't anything...........£210 on a mach 5 beadlock. I think not!

And a bit of a think, I have already got some 16" beadlocks and atm it would be much cheaper to run some maxxis creepys and sell the mickey's. The maxxis are around £130 per tyre, from what I have heard they still perform well. i would have liked to run the mickey's but it just seems like it is going to cost me more money than its worth and a hassle trying to find some wheels!

  6. No haven't got the doughnut on the prop, but is still a standard range rover prop that (touch wood) I have had no problems with it. I have fitted the +50mm fibreglass arches on the classic and even though I am running 35/13.5 tyres, they only just rub, but it is more the rear tyres just, and I mean just kissing the rear of the inner arch. Here is a pic as it is currently with the above spec

  7. Adrian, I am running a 70mm spring lift with gwyn lewis challenge kit, and 35" baja claws................on standard props. I don't use it on the road at all but no problems here, although it is a classic which doesn't have the doughnut on the prop. Also, do you mean 285/75 pro comps? If you do then a 2" lift would be adequate with extended arch flares

  8. Thanks for that Tony, I didn't realise that the actual wheels were that "cheap" they do seem very reasonably priced. Its the shipping that is the killer. Might tempt the family to have a holiday out there and come back with a few goodies.............where abouts are they based?

  9. When I get some pictures Monday of the portal rover's double beadlocks I shall put them on here just in case anyone else is interested etc.

I have also emailed MRW wheels today as they say that custom backspacing is done at no extra cost. Sounds good, also their price isn't too bad. The only draw back is they are in America, I should find out Monday what it will cost me in shipping to get them over here, then I can go from there ;)

  10. I have used an ep9 and TBH I was not that impressed. It is slower than the TDS and the freespool was very stiff. So stiff that it took a few people to pull it out. The actual winch only lasted a few months before the motor died, and after being dunked only a few times as well. I (personally) would stick with the TDS goldfish

  11. Right, I have got a price for my spec on some rockathons from Redpath tyres and they want around £180 + vat per wheels, so £211.50 per corner plus delivery. Thats too much again.

Anyone got any suggestions for a half decent wheel that is reasonably priced?

I have emailed portal rover for their prices on double beadlocks and some pictures of their new design, so shall find out Monday what they are like.

  12. £250 onwards for a stazworks is too much money for me. I am sure they are worth it, I will give maddison4x4 a call and see whats what. I have already have rockathon beadlocks but they were too wide, but a good wheel so will tell you how I get on tomorrow

  13. Yep, already have some Bt Fabrication beadlocks on modulars, and they are great. Would use them but the mickey thompson's are 15" and my beadlocks are 16" :( Bought the tyres for a good price so can't grumble really when they are £282 each new.

Will, you devil! That rim looks pretty dam pucker. Couldn't give me a rough idea of price could you????

Thanks for the link Dave. I will give them a call tomorrow to find out how much they want per rim and to see whether they can do special orders.
