  1. So I went and sorted it this morning. First thing I did was try and blow down the line from the tank. I couldn't blow down it at first and then with a pop it cleared. So there must be something floating around in my tank that blocked it. I fitted the new Delphi lift pump I picked up yesterday while I had the pipes off. Thanks for your input.

  2. Evening all, I've had a bit of a problem tonight and would like to hear your thoughts on the matter.

So I've been doing a daily 76 mile commute in my 300tdi 130 for the last few weeks with out any problems. Tonight I did the 33 miles home with no problems,  I stopped for half an hour and then went out again, didn't get a mile when it started dying on me. It would rev up and then fall then rev then fall to the point of not running. After some investigation no fuel was coming through the lift pump. With a make shift water bottle filled with diesel fuel tank I managed to get it to a safe place. So I suspect it's a knacked lift pump, do you agree with me? The only reason I'm querying it is I thought they would still run without the lift pump working.

  3. The good thing about the hose pipe is that you can move it around so it's not just clearing one spot. I have thought about doing one like retroanaconder and then having it join a pipe that ran along the door card with holes in it blow air up all the window. Would need on/off for when not needed so you can rest your arm on it.

  4. If you use a stumpy one cilinder 6 ends up somewhere in the heater! :-D With the normal length V8 R380 the 606 will be in the same location as it would be with a autobox. I can imagine when you use adaptorplate from GAZFAB or the like, ment for an V8 autobox, all will bolt together also (belhousing/engine wise). In that case clutch story still needs to be written off course.

I remembered that we're on about fitting a 606 into a range Rover. I've been looking at fitting one into my defender where a stumpy would be better.

  5. Those sheets must have been very cheap to warrant 2290 mile round trip. It's good to say a older defender doing that distance. I'm not sure if I can trust my 300tdi to do 60 motorway miles and back at the moment.

  6. There are loads of led bars out there now. If you want lift time guarantee go for laser or rigid industries. There is dasal which are UK made lights or off road light bars and vivid lightbars from the US. Some of he vivid ones can change colors and flash/strobe which look quite bling, just not for road use.

  7. Daan what did you go for? I need a new rad, and can't have my defender off road while getting mine re cored. Don't really fancy plastic jobbie. So it's either get a second hand one and get re cored with larger cores or try an Ali one off eBay.
