  1. Not very DIY but I took mine to a locksmith and they only charged me 10 dollars and change.
  2. Thanks once again you guys. One day I'll be able to answer questions. Cheers
  3. I want to change my transmission and axle fluids. What should I replace them with? 1984 Defender 110. Dare I say gear dope? Thanks.
  4. Thank you. Would still appreciate your photos (unless it's the same thing) before I take it all apart and find something different.
  5. I have a similar question, don't really understand what all was said on this one but I didn't want to start a new topic. My wipers rest in the up position and move downward. They work but look goofy. Was pretty far down on the things to fix list but I saw this topic and thought I would ask now. Thanks.
  6. Thank you so much, I couldn't have asked for a better description. Also answered another quandary; I noticed the rear diff light (who's wire is cut) and thought, "hmmm, funny place for a light." Was it designed for another purpose such as night time maintenance? P.S. I'm a Yank and new to Land Rovers, so with those two combined I will go ahead and apologize for any ridiculous questions. Cheers
  7. My Defender was (supposedly) at one time part of the British military. I have a 6 position light knob in the center of the dashboard. Up is "OFF."; one notch left is "T.", two notches left is "S.T.", Three notches left is "H.S.T." One notch right is "S.CONV." and two notches right is "CONV." I would like to wire the control to it's intended sequence. Currently "H.S.T." is everything on, "S.T." is fog lights and instrument lights, "T." is instrument lights only. "S.CONV." is everything off and "CONV." is instrument lights only. What is the proper sequence? (Or is this actually a normal feature?) Thank you.
  8. Thanks everyone, I'll have locksmith have a look see, wanted to make sure I wasn't wasting time. One more key sure won't be an issue with the 20 I carry around anyway.
  9. I have a 83 Defender 110 3 door. All three locks work manually and appear to be 2 different models but nearly identical. The ignition key doesn't operate any of them. Can they be changed by a locksmith to accept the ignition key? Also where can I get an ignition key blank? I'm a bit a newbie so bear with me. Thanks a lot.
