  1. Your radio buttons on Q's 2 & 5 would be better as checkboxes or a multiple select list. That was people can select more than 1 option (as I wanted to). Similarly, Q3 should really be radio button arrays (one per line) to allow only 1 option per line to be selected.
  2. Acutally, scrap that idea... Freelanders have those fancy door things. Windows and everything!
  3. If the weather keeps up this whole raining malarky, I'd recommend some good boots, waterproofs, and a change of clothes (nothing worse than driving back home soaked in wet chalky mud).
  4. Going on his track record, there's a good chance that Mr Cameron will end up on his roof too! Has Phil got his racer all sorted & ready then?
  5. Jules, Being the reliable, stand up bloke that you are, would you mind getting yourself ridiculously stuck in some reeeeealy deep mud (Enough to create at least a 6 tonne force) at Sidbury? Wanna try out my new winch B)
  6. Or a whole 34 seconds on 2mbps ADSL. I love broadband
  7. Famous Four do them.... Not cheap tho. Still, cheaper than constantly replacing normal mirrors. Unbreakable Mirrors
  8. I take it you're not a fan then Jules..?!? They do make some good points about the design flaws of electric winches, but some of the test figures are a bit picky. Web link here for anyone who fancies doing some reading.
  9. If you're going auto, get an auto box from a 300 tdi disco. They have a high-stall torque converter so you get a lot more useable, responsive power. The 200 tdi auto boxes are rubbish - all wrong for the engine.
  10. Just had my alternator checked over & new bearings fitted... cost £34 all told so not an expensive venture. Definitely worth making sure it's all working properly to avoid any problems down the line.
  11. This is what's left of the 'operation and locking lever' on the LHS of my winch casing. Anyone got a similar one that is complete? The Model / Serial number on the blue plate is H14 1474
  12. Not sure mate - I know Pete has sussed it - not sure what it was yet tho. You down at the weekend?
  13. Richard, Thanks for those pics. Did you catch the bottom of the PTO unit on a passing rock to snap the cast like that? If you have the early H14 style 'operation lever' on the winch (explained in a bit more detail above), a pic or two of that & some dimensions would be great. Didn't get your email from difflock... something must be broke there! Thanks, Dave.
  14. Adrian, Thanks for the pictures - I think I might try and rotate the pto as far as possible to avoid catching it on stray rocks / tree roots & modify the engage lever to appear at a suitable point through the seat box. I don't suppose your winch has the early H14 style engage mechanism? (The lever that comes up the back of the winch housing with 2 holes in it; NOT the mushroom shaped knob on the side of the winch housing) If so, any chance you could take a picture of the 'operation lever' - the one that sticks up the back of the winch housing (lhs) and is used to engage the winch. There sould be 2 holes in it that the sprung loaded locking pin (which is mounted to the top of the winch casing) locks into. Also, the exact menaurement between the centers of the 2 holes would be really useful. Mine was broken off & is missing. I'd like to fabricate a new one but have no idea what it's supposed to look like.....! Thanks again, Dave.
  15. Just rebuilt a 1.8 freelander engine - now have a metallic vibration noise coming from the head area - very prominent when you rev the engine. Cam timing is ok, no valves are sticking. Any ideas people??? Also, is it normal for the injectors to make a bit of a clicking noise?
  16. Adrian, Pics of the angle of the PTO unit on the TX box, and where the shaft bolts onto the gearbox / engine would be awesome! Thanks for your help, Dave.
  17. Loving the new rims jules.... Don't they just look awesome!
  18. Having become the recent proud owner of a Superwinch H14 PTO winch, all of the PTO kit & a heavy duty winch bumper for the grand sum of £275, I'm keen to get it fitted to the Landy, but am missing any sort of instructions.... I know the knowledgeable amounst you will say that it's all pretty obvious, but from my initial guesswork holding the PTO unit up against the transfer box, I think someone may have put the engagement level on the wrong way round, which has thrown me a bit! Any one got a book of words on the Superwinch H14 that shows exactly where all the PTO bits are meant ot bolt on? Or if you have one fitted, some pics of the underneath of your landy would be of use!
