No problem.. I got it nearly figured. It’s just the immobilising part.
    it’s got 3 x immobilisation points

1 of which says to go to engine cut off (max 20a) that’s where I’m stuck with know nothing about amps etc

The stop solenoid uses a lot less than 20 amp, but if your immobiliser just interrupts this supply I wouldn't bother as a common theft method is to just run a 12v supply direct from the battery to the solenoid. I would consider fitting another solenoid out of site for the immobiliser to operate.

  2. Welcome to the forum, I would suggest you check the wiring to the indicators on that side I think a lead or unit is shorting to earth. if you disconnect the supply to each indicator in turn you hopefully will locate the faulty one. It could be the supply feeding the rear through the chassis or at the trailer socket if fitted. Best of luck in finding it and let us know the result.

The third way is to remove the wiper arm from the spindle and adjust on the splines to your desired park position!

    Steve

I don't think this would work if it parks at the top of the sweep and you reposition the arms to the bottom as the wiper starts to move it will try to pull the arms into the bonnet.

And you can't even drive it to the school gateson the road... Or, for that matter, put Tarquin in the back seat, given the front belts are now anchored in the middle of it.

Although given it's film history it's arguably better value for money than a lot of pimped Defenders - collectors will pay crazy money for some memorabilia.

It's got a new mot. so you should be able to. But I won't be buying it.

  5. Welcome to the forum, When you say the fuel pump I assume you mean the fuel injection pump as you say you have replaced the lift pump. Stating the type of noise would be useful. Is it causing running issues? Is it a mechanical noise or fluid noise?

I did get the old bos off with the 3 arm puller, it popped off nicely. Now I have an issue with Optimil's quick release steering boss. The two locking pins are not setting into the base and hence the wheel can just be pulled off...

You have some thing stopping the faces mating, screws are too thick or a plate. The Optimil boss is a great bit of kit especially with the anti-theft unit.

How good are these where there’s tight access, for example the hole is near a bend/vertical surface? I have a memfast Rivetnut tool, and it’s mostly good, but if a hole is 8mm or less to a vertical surface I can’t get the tool in there to sit flat.

When they get that tight I would just resort to the old method of a nut and bolt to tighten it up.

  8. My order was delivered on Saturday morning from Tool Academy off ebay, I am impressed with the kit although I haven't tried it yet. As for the flanged rivnuts ideal in softer metals but leaves a gap between surfaces where as the other in steel or thicker aluminium reduces that gap. Unless of course you dimple it.
