Hmmm interesting. I do have another 2 points that the immobiliser can do. What would you suggest ?
Being a clockwork diesel there is very little electrically you can do other than the fuel supply, hopefully somebody else may have more suggestions.

No problem.. I got it nearly figured. It’s just the immobilising part.
it’s got 3 x immobilisation points1 of which says to go to engine cut off (max 20a) that’s where I’m stuck with know nothing about amps etc
The stop solenoid uses a lot less than 20 amp, but if your immobiliser just interrupts this supply I wouldn't bother as a common theft method is to just run a 12v supply direct from the battery to the solenoid. I would consider fitting another solenoid out of site for the immobiliser to operate.

If you identify the earth on both the vehicle loom and the light unit the others are easy to identify with either a multi meter or test lamp. You should not need a wiring diagram.

I see that they are rated to 24A. Is this man enough for the purple live feed?
You can get higher rated units.

Personally I would cut those Lucas connectors off and use something like these. https://www.screwfix.com/p/ideal-lever-wire-connectors-combo-pack-30-piece-set/6472g Much more convenient and less hassle.
-
I connected mine in the offside rear tub behind the cover panel where the loom feeds from the front.

Was there a factory recall on this as mine seems to be missing some?

Welcome to the forum, I would suggest you check the wiring to the indicators on that side I think a lead or unit is shorting to earth. if you disconnect the supply to each indicator in turn you hopefully will locate the faulty one. It could be the supply feeding the rear through the chassis or at the trailer socket if fitted. Best of luck in finding it and let us know the result.

Well done nice job, I need to make bits for my press. A brake is on the cards along with stands and drifts.

Excellent result, Well done It shows what determination and thought can achieve.

Could you just thin the cable cores out to fit the connector and heat shrink it?

The Delphi ones from rsonline have a 14amp rating, what are you wanting to run.

The third way is to remove the wiper arm from the spindle and adjust on the splines to your desired park position!
Steve
I don't think this would work if it parks at the top of the sweep and you reposition the arms to the bottom as the wiper starts to move it will try to pull the arms into the bonnet.

There is a very small difference in the gutter widths so it might bend or adjust into place.

When you say Defender turbo diesel are you talking about a 200tdi or a 90 110 turbo diesel pre tdi?

I was under the impression that those 007 defenders weren't road legal...
Possibly not all but this has a V5C and current mot.

And you can't even drive it
to the school gateson the road... Or, for that matter, put Tarquin in the back seat, given the front belts are now anchored in the middle of it.Although given it's film history it's arguably better value for money than a lot of pimped Defenders - collectors will pay crazy money for some memorabilia.
It's got a new mot. so you should be able to. But I won't be buying it.

Welcome to the forum, When you say the fuel pump I assume you mean the fuel injection pump as you say you have replaced the lift pump. Stating the type of noise would be useful. Is it causing running issues? Is it a mechanical noise or fluid noise?

I agree with L19MUD, if it went on either way you'd end up with it on upside down when straight ahead.
They have three pins to locate it to the boss so it will only go on one way. The locking tabs are opposite each other but they will only locate the tabs if the two sections can fit flat together.

You have some thing stopping the faces mating, screws are too thick or a plate. The Optimil boss is a great bit of kit especially with the anti-theft unit.

How good are these where there’s tight access, for example the hole is near a bend/vertical surface? I have a memfast Rivetnut tool, and it’s mostly good, but if a hole is 8mm or less to a vertical surface I can’t get the tool in there to sit flat.
When they get that tight I would just resort to the old method of a nut and bolt to tighten it up.

My order was delivered on Saturday morning from Tool Academy off ebay, I am impressed with the kit although I haven't tried it yet. As for the flanged rivnuts ideal in softer metals but leaves a gap between surfaces where as the other in steel or thicker aluminium reduces that gap. Unless of course you dimple it.

If it's twisted I would send it back. There is a method to check if it is straight using datum points on a flat floor. Check in Rave for details.

I've taken advantage of the 15% off and ordered one from ebay. I have promised myself a rivnut setter for years.
V8 discovery exhaust manifolds

Welcome to the forum. The manifolds should fit but you may need matching downpipes and exhaust to suit. What is wrong with the tubular system?
