boaterboy
The a/c on my D2 has failed and requires a new condenser (leaking) - too costly for me to replace at the moment! The cabin heater and a/c dashboard controls are integrated. Is it ok for me to continue using the heater, please? Do I need to or can I isolate the a/c in any way? If it is ok to continue using the heater will any damage occur to the a/c system? Very many thanks for any help & advice, in anticipation. bear
Hi, As long as the AC is set to "Economy" then the ac clutch/compressor is switch off anyway. If you have lost ac fluid the compressor won't run anyway as a safety feature. I'm sure the heater works in conjunction with the cooling system so is therefore a seperate system. Do a search for RAVE, the LR manual, and you'll get all your answers there. HTH, Griff

boaterboy
Please could you help me identify the clutch wire to which you refer, supaimpy?

boaterboy
Thank you for that, bear. It looks like a multi-pin connector? Will get to the car later to see. Do I need to identify a single lead (ie for the clutch) or can I just disconnect the connector complete, please?
boaterboy
Or, can I just remove fuse number 6, 10 amps, air conditioning (see attached - I hope it transmits - never posted a scan before!) to isolate the compressor clutch instead of unplugging the clutch wire as suggested above? Scan taken from Discovery handbook. Thank you for your ongoing help, all. It's very much appreciated.
bear
I guess that would work, also see if there is a relay. But as I mentioned previously, if there is no air con refrigerant in the system it shuts off anyway. Griff
