choob
As per title. Are there different kinds of caps? I have the blue one and it won't fit my lucas distributor.
FridgeFreezer
Buy genuine, especially V8 ignition components. Even the genuine stuff is marginal at best.
choob
Unfortunately I have to take what I get down here in Kenya I'm not sure what the distributor is, it doesn't have a mount for the ignition amplifier. It's got a (new) points conversion kit. I've got spark from coil but nothing out of the HT leads (about 6 months old). walace58
On my classic the ignition amp was fitted with the coil on the original distributor
FridgeFreezer
I've had caps & rotor arms cause poor ignition, as I said non-genuine stuff has been reliably awful. Genuine/OEM can include Lucas, Bosch, and at a stretch Intermotor or Ci (Commercial Ignition) might do... unbranded/own-brand stuff like Britpart is very suspect even by their low standards. walace58
Lucas is not genuine anymore, company name bought by the Chinese or other company , could be anyone producing the parts.
