LR90jp
Hi all, was reconnecting the thick brown wire to my 300tdi alternator and the terminal thread where the thick brown wire goes sheared. Do I need a new alternator or can I extract the thread and replace? Thanks
western
At the very least I would take it to a auto electrical supplier for repair & testing after the repair, then you have a bit of a guarantee.
Tanuki
Superglue the sheared terminal back in-place, then use the damaged alternator as the trade-in to get a new one at your local auto-electrical-parts-place! The replacement will at least come with a warranty [under the Consumer Rights Act 2015].
