piasecki.maciej
Hi there, Since uprated double thickness 300tdi intercoolers are priced now ~250 GBP on ebay (side mount version since I have aircon) and 200tdi ones are ~100 GBP I started to think whether there is a chance that 200tdi will fit in. For 200tdi specs say the overall size is 452 x 195 x 237 mm For 300tdi Airtec specs are 415 x 190 x 115 (core thickness) Anyone tried that? Or maybe there are other oprions on the market. Any help will be appreciated.
Nonimouse
Standard intercoolers are the same for both vehicles. Good quality intercoolers for a 300, will fit a 200, with minimal fettling Something about you dimensions doesn't sound right though.... All standard Tdi intercoolers have the same dimensions, though the position and angles of the air hose connections vary with vehicle spec (not sure of which has what spec, and not sure if Defenders vary from RRC and Discovery for the same generation engine 200/300). Any front mounted spanwise intercooler is aftermarket.
Ex Member
You get what you pay for. Air to air heat exchanger design is complex. I would highly doubt any low cost intercooler on eBay will do anything to improve heat removal.
