Blanco
Went back to my parts washer after some time to find that the supplied immersed pump is toast. I run on a mixture of old petrol and kerosene (just because it is what I have) I would like to find a better pump for it and make some alterations to the way it is configured; but there doesn't seem to be much out there when you search for solvent pump. Any pointers?
Bowie69
Honestly, I used to use kerosene, but having used proper water based parts washer fluid now I wouldn't go back, much better result and no need to degrease afterwards. Just make sure you have really strong gloves otherwise it turns your hands into soap Parts washer pumps are pretty common from the usual scumbags. But looking into it none of them seem rated for 'solvent', .... perhaps it is time I changed to water based.
mickeyw
I'm using successfully one of these 12v clicky-clacky petrol pumps to pump Jizer around my tank. It pumps a good volume of liquid and seems OK with the Jizer. I have it connected to a 12 battery via a foot pedal switch. My biggest headache is that the inline filter I have plumbed into the pickup line keeps clogging. I really need a sump with the pickup hose held sufficiently off the bottom, and maybe switch to a serviceable filter.
Bowie69
Yes, but having said that my pump that did sit in a bath of kerosene for 10+ years is not happily pumping water based stuff around, even if it is noisy.
