KEITHB252
As I turned into my drive there was a loud crack from n/s rear. Now every now and again when I go over a bump I hear the same noise, could it be rear coil spring?
steve b
Maybe, but equally could be driveshaft joint or a locked up VC winding the transmission up on tight corners Steve

deep
Don't know if you resolved this but something similar happened to me last week. It's very likely the spline stripped in the PTU (the unit that takes drive to the rear diff). Easy to tell - grab the driveshaft with front wheels on the ground (and one or both back wheels jacked up if you don't think your Haldex clutch is disengaged) and see if the driveshaft turns. It shouldn't!
