kuuuba777
Hello everybody! I have Santana 2,5d 86' and I have issue with lack of indicators and hazards. Do you know where I can find wiring diagrams for that model? I checked all fuses, power and groud on the flasher relay and I do not have power from the switch. Problem is, on the switch I have two connectors with 10 pins so now I'm stuck there and need some help:) I checked in series 3 manual and that is different switch and wiring. On that page (smithies.co.nz) I can find only user manual and it has not information besides amperage of the fuses. Anybody knows where I can find wiring diagrams of service manual for Santana? Thanks for help.
steve b
Welcome to the forum, Can you post a pic or two of the wiring to the connectors and the switches? That might help to identify which parts bin the switches came from . The Hazard lights should be fed by a permanent live so in theory would still work with a fault in the indicator switch. Could be a faulty flasher/hazard relay too Steve
kuuuba777
Good advice! I will check the hazard switch powers and grounds. I don't have power od the relay board on the pin 49 (+). First I thought in should came from switch but now I think it should have constant power I guess. As you see it is hard without wiring diagram. In the attachment photos of the conectors from the switch.
steve b
The plug on the left in the last pic appears to have bare copper strand(s) near the white wire? I want to suggest the switch might be from the Iveco parts bin, but that is only based on what I remember hearing years ago somewhere.. Are the colours to an EU/TUV standard of some sort? It may help to decode the loom Steve
FridgeFreezer
I'm going to guess that the operation of that is very similar to the Defender and standard Durite hazard switch; When you press the switch it makes 3 circuits; It connects permanent live to the flasher unit's input (perhaps changing over from ignition-switched live routed through the switch) It connects the flasher unit output to both indicator light circuits (joining left & right circuits) My guess is the same as Steve's, that will be a standard commercial hazard switch from some local supplier. kuuuba777
Ok, I solved my problem:) It wasn't switch failure. I have two issues. Both connected with "the electric board" (let's name it that way). One problem was wire to the board feeding power side of the flasher unit wasn't connected to the board. It is very short and could "wibrates itselt out of the board" or some previous owner disconnected it. When I connected the wire, hazard light appeared. Second problem was the connection of the indicators fuse. It wasn't good connection and I have to clean it and resolder fuse mounting point. But before I diagnosed the problem I checked all the switch wires. So I made the drawing for future use. These two squares are connectors on the switch. I used colors as they are in the wiring loom (most of them are striped): 1. constant power (hot all times) 2. + when switch in marker lights position 3. + when high beam switch position (both connectors has to be connected) 4. + when low beam swtich position 5. right indicator 6. ground when L or R indicator switched on 7. left indicator 8. constant power (hot all times) 9. empty 10. horn Great thanks everybody for help! p.s. Switch is pure french - it looks like from Citroen C15 and has the same features. But after "investigatior" I am 99% sure it is from Renault 9 and11, part number 7700779566 Edited August 3, 2023 by kuuuba777
