I rebuilt a transfer box a while ago for my project and I seem to have a problem , when difflock is engaged it works fine , its a little stiff but easily turnable with your hand which I put down to new parts but when you dis-engage difflock the output flanges turn easily but the gearing doesn't move . I've had it back apart several times and can't see any issue , although there is one . I can see the diff centre gears turning inside freely but the movement doesn't transfer to the internal gearing . The hi- lo selector is moving and engaging and when you move the gears by hand the output flanges move . It all goes together okay you don't need to force anything . There's something in there that's not in right or working correctly but I can't see it , I did think that one of the bearing preloads was wrong but thought that would just make it stiff , any help would be much appreciated . More resistance on the output flanges and less on the internals compared to the new box could be enough to have the internal gears turn even with diff lock disengaged. 1 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
