Recommended Posts

I've replaced my hub today along with disc and ebc new front brake pads.

The pads not stay and keep dropping down and moving around. I've used the same ebc pads on the rh and they've gone in and stayed in place has should.

Any ideas?

Caliper has corroded/worn out and pad touching the disc 'hat'?

Very common...

It would seem so Bowie! It's just had wheel bearings all round new atub axles swivels and discs and pads, would seem its also having new calipers now! May aswell have the lockers rebuilt and the diff input seal done and call it a axle rebuild ay!

Cheers for reply!

I'd take a single new caliper over an axle build any day!

Has i say I've just put on all near bearings new swivels new discs new pads, finished the job today and that's when I noticed the pads dropping 😔, may aswell replace the remaining pieces on the axles now like calipers diffs and then every things new and I can expect the next part to break instead 🍻

Why replace the diffs? If it is just an oil seal then you can do that without removing them from the axle case.

Diffs go for 100K + without trouble, seems like needless expense unless you know they are bad.

The compressor seems to run more than it used to so I'm assuming seals in the diff are ready to be done. Also I'd like them pegged why I'm at it. Running big tires and giving it some heavy right foot on pay & plays has taken it's toll so it's bin given some love but maybe a bit more wouldn't go a miss

Ah.... Well you can cheat then, and just unbolt the swivels at least.

That i can!

Any tips on how to explain to the better half where all the money has gone when I've done? 🍻😂
