dirk
hi i recently fitted a 3.5 v8 to my 130 , every thing ran fine for a short while , now it is very poor at starting just spins over . when it dose start it runs and goes fine . If i disconnect the engine coolant temperature sensor the <one behind the easy one> it starts up first go but runs terrible . Coil ,plugs fuel filter all new ,swapped coolant temp sensor no change . I have taken it to two garages with no luck as yet one said the fuel pump is running at 2 bar he said it should be higher he thinks that might be the problem . HELP thanks for any advice given . geoffbeaumont
Is it a flapper (Lucas 14CU) or hotwire (14CUX) injection system? Time to start going through the workshop diagnostics, I'm afraid - it could be any number of things, so you need to do a bit of graft to narrow it down. It isn't hard, but it is time consuming so it'll be a lot cheaper to do it yourself rather than pay a garage (plus you're more likely to go to the trouble of doing the job properly ). If it's hotwire, here's a few links to get you started: My own misfire problems... Fault finding More fault finding

FridgeFreezer
thanks for you post its a 3.5 flapper , is that bad Depends how you look at it really, the flapper is simple but quite elderly. Sounds like a sensor gone faulty to me, they're not much to buy.
Range Rover Blues
I can also recoment the Haynes manual for the RRC, which unlike the Disco maula is usefull for things other than a table with a wobbly leg. It has (in the suppliment) a good section on diagnosing both the flapper and hot wire systems at home with a multimeter and given that your souonds like a sensor gone down it's well worth you checking these out.
