ltwt1981
Doing a few checks on the Disco 2 last night, have noticed last 2 nights a strange noise when stopping engine, like a hiss, or air in the heater type noise. Anyway a look underneath tells me something is leaking so off with the engine cover, it seems that the heater hose is just about worn through where its been rubbing on the engine cover, I suspect a pin hole at this stage. Good job I looked I'm off to Manchester this week so I'll do it tonight. Is this a common problem on TD5 Discos if so others may benefit from a look. Les Henson
The 300TDi will do this as well. There are two forked brackets on the steel pipe that have two of the manifold bolts to keep it in place. They snap with the vibration of the engine and then the pipe rubs against the head bolts and can wear through. Les.
ltwt1981
This is the rubber pipe just below where it passes through the bulkhead to the heater box.
BogMonster
The hose on Discoverys around late 2001 build used to rub through on the engine lifting bracket.
