Guest dew110CSW
Going to try a local breakers (SS Land Rovers @ Lindale) as I need it by Wednesday at the latest for billing!
western
I'd go for a new one, then it'll be fine for years. make sure it's not from a 300 or Td5 vehicle as the transfer box end is different & won't fit a earlier vehicle
Guest dew110CSW
Granted, but as a new driver I rely on the handy-brake quite a lot so need a working one.
Happyoldgit
Buy a new one, don't take chances with brake components.
Guest dew110CSW
As long as I can get a new one for Wednesday I will, if not it'll be anything that fills the gap till after billing.

Litch
Your local franchised dealer will get you one in 24hrs but expect to pay more for a genuine part. If you haven't got a local non-franchised dealer who holds them in stock I would get on the phone first thing Monday morning to Paddocks, JC, DLS etc etc and get them to send one through 24hr delivery. You will have it on Tuesday and less than an hour later will be back on the road. There is no reason to find/fit a S/H part and who is to say it won't do the same as the old one whereas at least you know a new one will last for years.
