Orgasmic Farmer
Mate of mine made his own from a 110 Hi-Cap and a cut down BT Van box. Hmmm, camping at its most basic! I am sure he will finish it one day! Have a look at these 2 threads (in german but loads of pics) for inspiration....... http://www.explorermagazin.de/bauberi/cramer08.htm (click on "Fortsetzung..." near bottom of each page for continuation) http://www.womobox.de/phpBB2/viewtopic.php...p;&start=
jules
The far one in this pic is what I'm looking for The reason was not for off road ability how ever the ability on a wet frield would be very handy the main thing was towing capasity as most campers can only tow 2t but even then loads only have a 1t towing capasity were as a LR based large camper like the 6x6 in the pic will have a 3.5t towing capasity meaning I don't have to worry about being pulled and running over weight. the bolt on to a defender type things when your used to a proper camper are very small when with dogs you need floor space. but I did post the post some time ago but I don't have the funds at the moment to have a nother camper for a while.. Kev Baldwin
OT, do you have a location / grid ref for that plane ? as i'd like to see that next time i go. It was on the south coast close to Myrdal Jokul. Believe it or not it's just out of sight of the ring road so you've probably driven past it without knowing it! I'll try dig out my map with the location scribbled on it. The Icelandic guy with us knew the exact stretch of fence at the roadside to pull back to let us through onto what is effectively a private stretch of the Icelandic coastline. The story goes that the plane landed on the beach in a storm. Sand wrecked the engines so it wasn't going to take off ever again. Recovering it from the beach would have been a huge task so the USAF stripped what was salvegable and left the rest to the elements.
