gavo
Hi im new here I have just brought a 1996 discovery with a 2in lift and was wondering what would be the biggest tyres i could fit without doing any cutting current size on there are 235/70/R16 and was thinking of going 235/85/R16
BogMonster
Hello & welcome I think a 2" lift will accommodate that size but possibly only with a bit of trimming 245/75R16 are certainly OK with a bit of a lift
q-rover
Should be O.K. but will need the 'Camel Cut'.
Mark
As has been said, you should be OK, but you will probably need to trim the back corner of the rear wheel arch a touch - known as a camel cut.... Cheers Mark
russ3120
Hi im new hereI have just brought a 1996 discovery with a 2in lift and was wondering what would be the biggest tyres i could fit without doing any cutting current size on there are 235/70/R16 and was thinking of going 235/85/R16 for day to day use i run on 31x10.50x15 with now cutting off the arches, for playing in the dirt i run 235/85r16 but have had to cut away some of my arches Russ

Marc1187
I'm using 235/85r16 at's for everyday use, disco's not lifted and they are fine on the road unladen. Had to adjust the steering lock stops and as said above, the camel cut, only got any issues when off road or with a boot full/ towing, but then again my rear springs are shagged. PS, if anyone has a lift kit/ springs/ anything let me know please.
