wrcwrc
hi all 200 tdi manual j reg. the gearbox is perfect, no notches, good in every gear. although the gear stick sits just out of alignment to where it normally should be. all the actual gears are in exactly the right place. its the gearstick that is sitting just too far over to the left. instead of it resting between 3rd and 4th where it should - it rests between 1st and 2nd. so if im in nutral, push gearstick straight up - its straight into first. havnt pulled the centre console off yet to have a look - anyone advise? many thanks. BogMonster
the bias springs need resetting or more likely the plate that locates them is broken, only costs a couple fo quid easy fix once you get to the top of the gearbox which is the worst bit as you have to take all the tunnel trim off which takes a while, you'll need pop rivets to put it back in again, 13 I think... not 100% sure though
DiscoClax
Here's a pic of the bits and bobs with part numbers.. As Bogmonster has said, it's most likely the 1-2 bias spring or associated componentry that's at fault.
