red90 driver
I think (as the topic title says) we may have dropped a minor boo boo.... Just acquired a new RD57 arb for the 90 from fleabay. (As in already in my sweaty mitts) However, I think that it will not fit into the 300 rear axle due to the larger flange diameter??? True / false ??? So, my question is, will the RD57 fit into a 300 rear axle without the use of a large press?
white90
I think RD57 is for a P38 diff

red90 driver
And P38 axles won't fit onto a 90 either I suppose?????
SiWhite
Don't think so - diff is on the wrong side IIRC......
white90
there is one on our TD5 110 mounts are all the same as the
white90
this is a P38 style rear axle on the 110 diff on same side and No I don't want it thanks the sheet above says this axle is fitted 2002>
red90 driver
they will fit I'm surethere is one on our TD5 110 mounts are all the same Is it that the 8.05" flange will not go into the axle casing even if you use a p38 3rd member? Or is it just impossible to fit regardless? (Told you I'm having a blonde moment.....)
white90
I'm not totally sure but the casing on the 110 axle is different to the 90 one.
red90 driver
Thanks for the input. I would guess that we are truly up the creek and we will just sell the diff and keep looking. B)
ciderman
we will just sell the diff and keep looking. B) For an RD 56 maybee?
Lewis
IIRC Divster is using a Disco2/P38 type diff (the one your locker fits) is a modified standard axle case in the rear of his trayback. Also a friends brother has the P38 centre section welded into a front axle case to give a four pin diff. So yes, it can be done, and no P38 axles will not bolt on, but as white90 correctly says a recent 110 rear will, which is handy because they go for peanuts on ebay
techtone
Your easier just getting a late 110 rear axle and fitting that. This is the none salisbury one ie does not have a large tin rear cover, it looks almost the same as a standard 90 apart from the diff pan bowel has no shaping around the crown wheel. Either way its not the end of the world you can always sell it on! not to me though, I already have one in a wolf axle!
red90 driver
Certainly gives me something to work with now.
