trogers
Hi all Can anyone of you knowledgeable people tell me if changing the rear top shock absorber bushes is a pain or is it easy enough for a diyer? Are any special tools required? Thanks in advance
BogMonster
You need a vice to do it and something to put against the old bush to push it through. A bit of fairy liquid or something to lubricate matters will make life easier, don't use oil or grease though. Beware though, in a lot of cases the hole is worn so if you put a new bush in, it won't be a tight fit and you will gain nothing.

davie
I tried doing the top bushes on my 200 tdi disco when i had it - and as pointed out the hole was so badly worn out the new bushes didnt make any difference, easier in the end to chuck on a new set of shockers. BogMonster
Ah ok - genuine ones are one part and have to be pressed in with a vice or a press.
