jules
Three time british off road champion Paul Chaot was killed in a RTA in the early hours of Saterday morning I was only chatting to him on friday about Freelander Body shells for some one on this forum. I used to pit for him and Keith in the late 90's and he was a driver I looked up to and admired. see details

andyb
He was insanely fast! I remember talking to Keith Banyard some years ago. Keith was relaying a story about a wooded section at an event, with the trees passing by at close to 3 figure speeds and the sun flickering thru the branches.....Paul says over the intercom to Keith....."If I sneeze, we're dead!", but he didn't lift off!! I met him thru Pete a couple of times, I doubt that Paul knew who I was, but I thought that the above a fitting anecdote.
jules
I was gutted I walked into work thismorning after a few days off and the Buyer asked me if I knew the off road champion that had been killed over the weekend . He was a legend behind the wheel of a race car and had so many stories to tell its a big loss to the sport. My condolances to his family
