FridgeFreezer
As the title says, I'm scouting around on eBlag for a towbar kit (a proper LR one with plug-in electrics rather than frickin' scotchloks ) and found a 2002 one, anyone know if it'll fit my '98? BogMonster
I would guess it will, but I can probably find out 100% at work tomorrow. Do you have a part number for it?
FridgeFreezer
No part number, it s a used one on eBlag, but I've just seen DLR are selling pukka electrics kits for £25 so a cheapo Towsure tow pack could be back on the cards. Llanigraham
Yes, will fit. Tow bar for all Series 1 F/L's are the same.
FridgeFreezer
Cheers guys - on assurances from Paddocks that their £80 kit contains a bolt-on tow pack AND the proper electrics, I've taken that option. We'll see if it's OK or one of Paddocks bit-too-cheap efforts.
FridgeFreezer
Surprise surprise, Paddocks one is a universal kit with scotchloks just negotiated a partial refund out of them to purchase a genuine electrics setup from DLS on eBay, since they say they "can't get them"
Roverdrive
Sorry only just seen this thread. I am not so sure the tow bars are the same for all F/L. I got one off e blag for a 2002 model as I was told it would fit, and it fouled the exhaust of my 2005 model. IIRC I cut the end off the pipe which the silencer clamps to in order to gain sufficient clearance between the box and the bar. This was a detachable type mount if that helps at all? FridgeFreezer
Roverdrive - they are all the same up to ~2002/3 or something, mine's early enough that it's OK.
Roverdrive
OK Cheers. Moved on to a D3 now!
FridgeFreezer
Well the DLS-supplied harness has arrived, and it makes Paddocks look even more pathetic - it's made by bleedin' Britpart! part number YMZ101030 if anyone needs to know.
