If your going to plasma, better to be on top of the job than underneath it. Might be better with a shorter 12mm than a long 10mm. Obviously there are pros and cons of each, but providing its properly maintained and not kinked and used within its safety parameters, then a wire rope should be fine. I vaguely recall a thread about this some time ago... sure somebody who knows how to use the search falicity properly will be able to find it and link it.
