cougard
Hi all, I have been given an old Warn M8000 by a friend that was covered in mud and dust. I have stripped it down and discovered thet the motor is burnt out. I am going to put a new motor in but which motor do I put in? Im not to clued up on winches and have read that some of the motors are interchangable to give more power? Can someone point me in the right direction please? Thanks, Matt
bishbosh
Call David Bowyer. He'll advise you and supply you at a good price.
honitonhobbit
Ring Dave Bowyer and ask for a TDS 8500 motor - it's basically an EP9 4.6 unit. The 5.6 and 6.6 will fit but the M8000 isn't man enough for that kind of grunt. You could fit a Warn 6hp motor from an Xp but they use American hp wich is soft, delicate and girly. Oddly enough I am just re-building an M8000 for a customer - lovely winch one of the two decent winches made by Worn Runs. grabs hard hat and dives into trench to await the Warn Winches Rule the World Saddos
