FridgeFreezer
No program available to flash bios from within windows ? (guessing not by sound of its age...) No, it's a fairly old laptop. Got to be a DOS disk.
Kim Horsevad
Now i can't use the pendrive for anything else though whcih is annoying as it was a very tasty ruggedised 2gb jobby Get just about any "live" linux-cd and start cfdisk. Erase all partitions on pendrive and install one single vfat partition.
landroversforever
this probably isnt much use now, think all has been said... but i shal anyway! When i build mine, to install XP, i first build up with the basics. No graphics, only the onbards stuff (or use the card plugged in to see the onboard), PSU, 1 Optical Drive, 1 HDD, 1 stick-o-ram, etc. Then i dont start the windows install right away, i use Knoppix as above, to check everything is working right before starting. Knoppix runs from a disk and doesnt need installing. If this doesnt show any faults i can then get on with the XP install. First thing I install after operating system is always the MB drivers, this saves any upsets from that whilst installing other bits and bobs. Once i have the basic system up and running i then move on with putting in the Other HDDs, graphics, RAID etc.
