Subject/Concern: Brake Vacuum Pump Seal Oil Leak

Models:

Defender (LD) 2.4L Diesel Only

2.4L Diesel Only VIN-range: 7A732615 Onwards

Summary: Oil leaking from the brake vacuum pump front oil seal.

Cause: Dirt ingress into the pump pulley seal resulting in damage to the lip and subsequent oil leakage (the new brake vacuum pump has a secondary dirt lip seal). Suggested Customer Concern Code - R31.

Action: Should a customer express concern, install a new brake vacuum pump (refer to Global Technical Reference GTR Workshop Manual, section 206-07 (70.15.19)).

Thank you for this piece of info.My Puma is going in for its first service at the Dealers. Anything else I should be aware of ?

Some other things:

- Most important: Oil sump (check if your have the new design or not. if not, request the change)

- Fuel tank breather relocation (In ours is still in the original position but several persosn requested the relocation of it)

We should have a running tally of these TSBs. Perhaps with references/links to the original.

I'd like to go in to a service with a full list of all the updates to be made.

Just a note about this, technical bulletins are not recalls, the only way a dealer will carry out a tech bulletin is if there is a fault with the part, ie they will only change the part to the updated one if its leaking/faulty and ideally the customer has complained of it, they cant change it just because it may fail or land rover know there is a problem with them.

Hope that makes sense. It would be good to have a section with just technical bulletins listed, may help people diagnose faults.
