Shaneshaneukuk
Hi, I have just bought a 90 and have been told to test if the snorkle is airtight to put my hand over it and it should stall, Is this correct as mine doesn't stall? cheers. McS Junior
If you use a poly bag or such like to make an airtight seal around the snorkel then the engine should stall out if the intake system is correctly sealed throughout. white90
If it doesn't it is leaking air and will allow water in which snorkle have you got?
landmannnn
Don't do it with your hand, especially a V8. Did it once, it hurt. On a similar topic a "mate" once blocked my exhaust with a potato. Most cars won't start, my V8 just shot the spud out like a rocket. Orange
Chech the snorlke around the mounting points up the windscreen. If it's been knocked, it may be split here. Also worth running along all of the joins and taking them apart and redoing them with new jubilee clips. I'd recommend proper metal jubilee clips, rather than the palstic type that just clip together...
