Ian M
does anyone know if a fog light bulb will fit into standard round say indicator or side light holder then change the lense to a red one? Ian
rtbarton
IIRC the foglight and indicator are both 21 watts, so you could use a standard indicator bulb and holder with a red lense fitted. There might be a problem with the proximity of the bulb to the lense, indicators and brakelights are used intermittently whereas fogs are used continuously, so there is a possibilty the bulb could melt the lens. Ian M
it will only ever be used on an mot test as it rarely goes on the road anyway.
western
bulbs are identical as are the bulb holders, only the lense is a different colour & the defraction pattern. the lense has to be a certain size too, so doubt a normal brake/tail red lense would pass the MOT, thats why earlier defenders have the rectangular rear fog lights & later ones have the bigger round [NAS] type rear fog lights.
