Standard Defender Light Question

IIRC the foglight and indicator are both 21 watts, so you could use a standard indicator bulb and holder with a red lense fitted.

There might be a problem with the proximity of the bulb to the lense, indicators and brakelights are used intermittently whereas fogs are used continuously, so there is a possibilty the bulb could melt the lens.

bulbs are identical as are the bulb holders, only the lense is a different colour & the defraction pattern. the lense has to be a certain size too, so doubt a normal brake/tail red lense would pass the MOT, thats why earlier defenders have the rectangular rear fog lights & later ones have the bigger round [NAS] type rear fog lights.
