3littledevils
Hi all I am now the owner of 2 discos (a hobby?????) Just bought a td5 es with all the bits as my "normal" car and am keeping the 200tdi as a plaything.. A couple of quick questions on the td5..... The electric seat on the passenger side is jammed in the furthest back position, is there a manual overide to get the seat moved forwards (bars to lift etc)?? The bonnet release has come adrift somewhere along the lines, I can feel it pulling the wire, but the bonnet stays firmly shut. Any ideas as to how to free? Thank you in advance Andy
Orange
WRT the bonnet, try getting someone to pull the release handle while you wiggle the bonnet from side to side and up/down and see if this frees it. If it does, a few minutes tinkering with the hinge and locking adjusters should see you right. Can't help with the seats, I'm afraid. I bought a bottom spec one to avoid this sort of problem!! teabag
No override for electric seats i'm afraid. If it's jammed then remove what the caurse is and you will be on your way, or is it electrical failure.
3littledevils
With the seat, I can hear the motor trying to work, but it clicks as if it has come up against something, so will have a good dig around in the next couple of days.. Do the motors seize up at all??
BogMonster
If it is clicking I would think the gears are probably stripped
