gruntus
Chaps, I want to fit some clear fuel lines basically from the lift pump all the way round the fuel system so that its easy to setup and spot any problems in the future. I noticed when setting up my temporary system for primimg the 200tdi (currently on an engine stand) that all the system appears to be imperial from lift pump through to injectors. What size of pipe do I need and do you have any recommended suppliers? I obviously want it to be fire proof etc to meet all regulatory standards. Cheers in advance. steve_d
Fire Proof? Can't say I've seen a fire proof hose before and would guess there will not be anything clear. Steve
gruntus
Hi Steve, I really meant flame retardant in line with regs (not garden hose ) I have spotted this stuff on Dieselveg.com. Cheers G
TheRecklessEngineer
The stuff diesel veg supply can be had from any motor factors - it is just clear nylon hose. They use rubber hose pushed over the end with a jubilee clip and brass ferrule to connect it all.
Madcowz
I'm interested as well as I always fancied clear coolant hoses. All it then needs is a couple of plastic fish and it would look great :-)
Les Henson
I'd buy it from somewhere else - they are damned expensive! Over £6 for a metre of 8mm fuel hose is about 5 - times what I get it for at my local motor factors. Most motor factors sell reinforced clear fuel hose, so you shouldn't have a problem buying it. muddy
If you had an oversize top hose or header tanke you could do boil in the bag stuff If you using clear lines why not add some red dye to the fuel so you can see it easyer My coat? why thankyou....
